Chromebook boots to white screen with Chrome logo, but will not load OS - Acer Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-id="this-article-only-applies-to%3A-chromebook-ac710">This article only applies to: Chromebook AC710</h3><p>SYMPTOMS</p><p>A recent update may cause the Acer AC710 Chromebook to not boot properly. Your system may boot to a white screen with the Chrome logo, or to a flickering or flashing Chrome login screen.</p><p>SOLUTION</p><p>If you leave your Chromebook in this state, it should attempt to download and install the latest update and boot normally. This can take up to 30 minutes to complete. If you are still unable to get the Chromebook to boot properly, please follow the steps below to resolve your issue.</p><p>Use the following steps to create a USB recovery flash drive and reinstall the Chrome operating system. You will need a PC with internet access and a 4 GB or larger USB flash drive to complete this procedure.</p><ol><li>Hold the Esc and Refresh (F3) keys, then press the power button to boot to Developer Mode.</li><li>Write down the model number at the bottom of this screen.</li><li>After you have your model number, <a href="https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/19-how-to-create-recovery-media-for-a-chromebook" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">create a USB Recovery Flash Drive for your Chromebook</a>.</li><li> <a href="https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/495-reinstall-chromebook-with-a-usb-flash-drive" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">Reinstall the Chrome OS</a> with your USB recovery drive.</li></ol> </article> </main>
