How to Enable Flash Notifications on a Chromebook

Flash notifications is an accessibility feature on ChromeOS that visually alerts you whenever you receive a new notification by flashing a color on the screen. This feature is useful for those who are hard of hearing or frequently miss notifications.

How to enable flash notifications

Select the Clock in the lower right corner.
Select the gear icon to open the Settings⚙️ application.
On the left side of the Settings window, select Accessibility.
Then on the right, select Audio and Captions.
Locate and enable Flash Notifications.

How to change the color of the flash

Ensure Flash Notifications is enabled, see How to enable flash notifications above.
Select the dropdown and choose a color.
Select Preview to see what the notification will look like.
