ChromeOS allows you to easily access your Microsoft 365 and OneDrive files directly from the Files app on your Chromebook.
How to access Microsoft 365 and OneDrive files on a Chromebook
- Select the Clock in the lower right corner.
- Select the Gear⚙️icon to open the Settings application.
- On the left side of the Settings window, select System Preferences.
- On the right side locate and select OneDrive.
- Add your Microsoft Account by selecting Connect.
- Then select Connect to OneDrive.
- Log in to your Microsoft account.
- When asked to allow the app access, select Allow.
- Open the Files📁 application.
- On the left side of the window, select Microsoft OneDrive.
Note: When opening a file you may be asked to choose an app to open the file in. We recommend that you open the files with the Microsoft 365 application.
How to open a file with the Microsoft 365 application on a Chromebook
- Select a file to open.
- When asked to set up Microsoft 365, select Get started and install the Microsoft 365 Copilot application.
Note: If you open a Microsoft file with a Google application, it will make a copy of the file in your Google Drive, and any changes you make to the file in Google Drive will not be reflected in Microsoft 365.
