How to create recovery media for a Chromebook - Acer Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <p>You can create a recovery USB drive or SD card to allow you to restore your Chromebook to its factory settings. With the Chrome browser installed, please follow the steps below:</p><ol><li>Open the Chrome browser and visit <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">https://chrome.google.com/webstore</a>.</li><li>In the search bar located to the top left, type chromebook recovery.</li><li>Locate the <strong>Chromebook Recovery Utility</strong>, then click <strong>Free</strong> to the right.</li><li>Click <strong>Add</strong>.</li><li>Click the new App Launcher that was added to your taskbar.</li><li>Click the <strong>Recovery</strong> app.</li><li>After the utility is prepared, insert a 4 GB or larger USB flash drive or SD card into your computer.</li><li>Click <strong>Get started</strong>.</li><li>Click <strong>Select a model from a list</strong>, then select <strong>Acer</strong> and then your specific product.</li><li>Continue following the Chromebook Recovery Utility on-screen instructions. If you are prompted to allow changes, click <strong>Yes</strong>.</li></ol><h2 data-id="on-a-mac%3A">On a Mac:</h2><ol><li> <a href="https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">Install Google Chrome</a>.</li><li>Open Chrome and Install the <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chromebook-recovery-utili/jndclpdbaamdhonoechobihbbiimdgai" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">recovery app</a>. </li><li>Open the <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chromebook-recovery-utili/jndclpdbaamdhonoechobihbbiimdgai" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">recovery app</a>.</li><li>Click <strong>Get started</strong>.</li><li>Click <strong>Select a model from a list</strong>, or type in the model number of the Chromebook you want to recover.
