Aspire TC-780 DVD drive will not recognize or play discs

This article only applies to: Aspire TC-780 and TC-780A systems

A conflict with the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver may cause the Aspire TC-780 to not properly recognize discs. You can resolve this issue by uninstalling the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver using the instructions below.

Click the Start menu and select Settings.
Select Apps.
Click Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology in the Apps & features list.
Click Uninstall and follow the instructions on the screen to remove the application.

Note: It is not necessary to reinstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology application. We are working with Intel to provide a driver update that will prevent this issue from occurring.
