Do Not Connect a Power Supply Splitter Cable to Your Video Card

The power supply in your computer can be connected to different hardware components. The number of hardware components that can be connected to the power supply depends on how many connectors the power supply has. In some cases, you can extend the number of connectors by using a splitter cable.

Connecting a power supply splitter cable

When you wish to extend the number of connectors of your power supply by adding a splitter cable, DO NOT connect it to the video card. Doing so can affect your system’s performance and can even damage your computer.

Possible consequences

Connecting the power supply to the video card via a splitter cable might cause:

black screens
unexpected shutdowns
system crashes
irreversible damage to your video card

Damages not covered under warranty

Please make sure you do not connect the power supply splitter cable to your video card. If you do connect the power supply splitter cable to your video card, any damage caused to your computer or any components as a result of this action is not covered under warranty.
