When you wish to extend the number of connectors of your power supply by adding a splitter cable, DO NOT connect it to the video card. Doing so can affect your system’s performance and can even damage your computer.
Possible consequences
Connecting the power supply to the video card via a splitter cable might cause:
- black screens
- unexpected shutdowns
- system crashes
- irreversible damage to your video card
