Ya lost me xapim. Are you saying that I should try install the previous version of PS 2.01.3005???

I emailed Acer about this and a technician called yesterday only to tell me after 25 minutes or so, he was unable to help me and would get back to me, but never did. This is a farce, cause everything else is working just fine except PS!!! Seriously need help here trying to sort this out peeps!!!! It's like having twin turbos on a car, but unless they're both working to keep the engine cool, something is gonna blow for sure.

Was able to reinstall PS and function after following advice from you guys previously, only this time I can't rename the plugs folder as I can't run as administrator. Lost admin privilege somehow!!!

You should remove the old ps completely with a uninstaller like youruninstaller for ex to completely remove all leftovers including reg keys then download the H700 ps and change the plugs folder name to your exact model (you have to have the full model showing up in the bios with the work predator if not will never work and only acer can fix the bios by reflashing the correct name) after install the appx bundle take ownership of the program files/windows apps hidden folder and run ps from there u can even create a task in the scheduler to run it from there follow the instructions on my thread theres nothing saying about old ps my thread ist about the new ps working on all predator/nitro 7th gen up i can say it even installs on aspire and spin but thats just experimental testing i have done and functions dont work

lodctr /R

Note it has to be a capital R or you will get an error.

You should get this result:

Once that is done you should now be able to run PredatorSense.

xapim I have downloaded and installed YU as you suggested. However, since using YU in attempt to totally remove PS and all its' components, the Predator Sense Service file is still visible in the apps list and also on YU when I open it back up. Even after using YU, PS icons were still in the start menu and I had to manually delete them. However, PSS still exist and I can't remove it.

Seriously it is starting to annoy me that the PS app is the only app that is not functioning, which I consider to be vital for a gaming laptop. All this tinkering with system files is really annoying me as I am no technician and trying to reinstall this app is giving me nothing more than headaches and grief. I'm really starting to worry that trying to go through this process trying to resolve this problem is going to null and void my warranty to correct this systematic issue, which feels like is going around in circles. Like I said, I'm no technician, but I've never had so many issues trying to restore a manufacturers' system application as such.

Please correct me if wrong xapim, but in the following order these are the steps I undertook to try reinstalling Predator Sense for Predator Helios 500 (PH517-51):

1. Downloaded Your Uninstaller application from http://www.ursoftware.com/ (http://www.ursoftware.com/dlds/yusetup.exe).

2. Opened YU and uninstall Predator Sense and all its’ associated files (including Predator Sense Service).

3. Then from the Acer website, I downloaded Predator Sense version 3.00.3136 (https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Application/Predator Sense/Predator Sense_Acer_3.00.3136_W10x64_A.zip?acerid=637133586213596884&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=PREDATOR&Step3=PREDATOR PH717-71&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_10) for Predator Helios 700 (PH717-71).

4. Then in order to change the folder name in the PS plugs folder as administrator, I downloaded the ‘Add Take Ownership to Context Menu in Windows 10’ app from their website (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3841-add-take-ownership-context-menu-windows-10-a.html), then selected and downloaded Step 2 select ‘Add_Shift+Right-Click_Take_Ownership_to_context_menu.reg’ (https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/247898d1568820808-add-take-ownership-context-menu-windows-10-a-add_shift-right-click_take_ownership_to_context_menu.reg) and then installed the download to the desktop.

5. Then I opened the downloaded Predator Sense version 3.00.3136 installation folder and held the shift key+right mouse button to take ownership of the folder.

6. Then I open the plugs folder and renamed the folder Predator PH517-51 and renamed the folder PH517-51 (with Predator).

7. Then I opened the APPXBUNDLE File and performed the installation.

8. Then I opened the Setup.exe file to try install it, only to receive the same lousy message again ‘Sorry! This computer is not supported.’

Even after repeating the process again, PS icon is back in the start menu again and when I click on it nothing happens. I don’t even get the Predator logo in the centre of the screen trying to reboot repeatedly, as it did previously.

I use YU for ages it's my uninstall software use super mode will remove any left over from any app

I only need to install the APPXBUNDLE nothing else ps will be installed in the program files windows apps hidden folder which u need to take ownership to get inside and run ps from there plus unless u disassemble the laptop and break any warranty seals if any present warranty won't be voided (apart from self user damage)

You have to remove all ps software including services

@Burigal ok prob its easier for u because the h500 was the first one to get the new blue PS version just got download the latest version from here (its the same as the h700) u shouldnt have any issues installing it usually whoever has issues installing the new ps are only the h300/nitro5 2017/18 users that still have either nitro sense or the red ps also u stated that this started after ms updated net framework try to reinstall all versions available from ms website again i really dont see why u should be having issues with this on a h500 also can u do us a favor and check what is the correct modle name showing up in your bios or acer care center (do not post snid or serial its not allowed) just to rule out any issues with the name in the bios it should be exactly Predator PH517-51 and nothing else if theres is something different it would never work and only acer can fix the name in the bios by re-flashing it this usually happens when a mobo is replaced might come with the wrong name in the bios not allowing ps to install

When Acer technical support contacted me and we were trying resolve this problem, he was going to help me try reset/re-flash bios, but was unable to when I couldn’t enter bios after rebooting and pressing F10 repeatedly. That’s when he ended the call and said he would get back to me, but hasn’t since.
