Everyone is talking about the upgrade I'm just curious to know if I can install
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V7S1T0) on my laptop.  as I know one 4gb ram is inbuilt and the other is removable?  and use the same port for install NVMe SSD there? means I can only use 4gb ram or there is any other dedicated empty port for SSD

I understand from this forum that A515-51 supports Samsung 970 Evo M2. Does it support the newer version Samsung 970 Evo PLUS? @egydiocoelho

I have Acer Aspire A515-51g-53BQ, I want to install SSD in it now:

I am planning to install following ssd:

Western Digital WD Green 240 GB M.2 2280 SATA Internal Solid State Drive (WDS240G2G0B) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B078WYS5K6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FkpsEbP87RYD5

Is this SSD compatible to my Acer Aspire A515-51g-53BQ model? What about the SSD key?  I think this particular ssd is 'B+M' Key and I think my laptop port has only 'M' Key. Can you please help me in this.
Does above mentioned SSD with 'B+M' key works for my A515-51g-53BQ laptop's 'M' key slot?
Can we still use 'B+M' key ssd in A515-51g-53BQ??

    Hi,
Remove the screws for service doors(HDD and RAM), take out the memory modules and HDD, remove 17 screws from the back cover, use a guitar pick or an old card to release the tabs(slowly without breaking the tabs), separate the bottom cover slowly, insert the M.2 SSD at an angle and secure with the screw, reverse the procedure to reassemble.

    Hi,
Are you planning to buy A515-51G? If so, yes you can install the intended Samsung 960EVO NVMe SSD.
how about 500 gb ? do  it supports 500gb pcie NVMe m.2 ssd ?

Recommended maximum capacity is 256GB, 512GB may or may not work, it's up to you to test it but I have seen others installing even a 1TB drive in other models and not in a A515-51G.
i am running (aspire 5 A515-51G-51GW) does it support samsung 960 evo NVMe ?
i am afraid to buy it because of it supports on model or not
    please help
    Hi,
Yes, it supports Samsung Evo 960, I have it installed in my A515-51 and runs at half the speed advertised by the manufacturer due to only 2 lanes enabled(it's the norm for laptops).

For booting speed and app load speed up gradation 250gb is enough or not please tell me

Hello. I own an Acer Aspire A515-51G-57DS (i5-7200U, MX150 2GB VRAM, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD) and I was wondering if my model can support NVMe SSDs for sure, because I found different opinions on various forums. The motherboard has an M.2 slot. Since I'm on a budget, I momentarily ordered an Integral M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD 240GB
( https://www.integralmemory.com/sites/default/files/products/specifcations/Integral_M.2%202280%20PCIe%20NVMe%20SSD_Spec_Sheet.pdf ) and I was wondering if I made the right choice, compatibility-wise. So, I wasted my money or it will work? Could someone enlighten me, please?

    Hi,
I don't think there will be any difficulty in installing the drive but it's an unknown make so far, so until you try it, it's difficult to say whether it would work or not.
Thank you for your answer, @brummyfan2
I'll reply here after the SSD arrives. Wish me luck.
    Hi,
    All the best :)

Hello, again! As promised, I came back with updates. The SSD arrived today, I installed it and everything works as it should. So the Acer Aspire A515-51G supports Integral M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD (at least my model number, A515-51G-57DS, does). Thanks alot @brummyfan2 for your help!

Anyone here know in which slot can I put new nvme SSD, in the primary or secondary (that's empty)? Original SSD is worthless..

You have only one slot for M.2 SSD in A515-51G.

Did your 1tb nvme worked flawlessly on acer A515-51G. Actually I am also skeptical regarding installation of samsung nvme 970 evo plus 1 tb ssd. Your reply will be very helpful for me. Thanks
It's working fine, it's initial hours of usages only, so far so issue, able to migrate the OS to SSD. adding some pics just to make the info more clear.

Did you need to tweak anything in the BIOS to get the SSD to be primary boot drive. Also your disk management shows 3 drives. Did your laptop come with 2 drives at the time of purchase.

Yes, the motherboard is capable of PCIe 4lanes but restriction may have been done in BIOS.
