Why does my touchpad or mouse cursor freeze?
Users may experience touchpad freezing if multiple touchpoints are pressed on the touchpad. This can occur without users even realizing it. Acer released a firmware update to resolve this issue. This update should have automatically been pushed to impacted devices via Acer Live Update. If you did not receive the update, you can download and install it using the steps below.
- Visit the Drivers and Manuals section of the Acer support website.
- Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model.
- Select BIOS/Firmware
- Click the Download link for the file you want to download. (Firmware - Synaptics - Improve touchpad performance v1.17)

Note: If you receive the message "No FW need to update", you have the latest firmware for your device.
