How to use "Disk Sanitizer" on Acer Travelmate notebooks
How do I use the Disk Sanitizer on my Acer Travelmate? Some Acer TravelMate series product include a feature in the UEFI/BIOS called Disk Sanitizer. This feature allows you to quickly and easily erase all of the magnetic information stored on the drive. Use the following steps to run Disk Sanitizer:
Connect your AC adapter to your computer and power source.
Completely .
Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 to enter the BIOS.
Use the right arrow key to select Security .
Create a Supervisor Password. You will be unable to use Disk Sanitizer if a Supervisor password is not set.
Use the Right arrow to highlight Advanced and press Enter .
Use the down arrow to select Disk Sanitizer and press Enter . A popup message will warn you that all data on the drive will be lost when running this feature.
Select the drive you want to erase.
Choose Quick Clean or Full Sanitization then press Enter .
Select Yes to confirm you want to erase the drive. A progress bar will appear to let you know the drive is being erased.
Note: Not all TravelMate products will support the Disk Sanitizer feature.
