<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-id="how-can-i-reinstall-the-operating-system-on-my-android-tablet">How can I reinstall the operating system on my Android tablet?<br></h3> <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aCikbQK1w8s" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" class="importedEmbed-iframe"></iframe> <p>PRECAUTION</p> <ul><li>This will restore your tablet to the original factory configuration, and erase all data on the system.<br></li> <li>This process will require a microSD card.<br></li> <li>Check the Readme.txt file in the OS download for any changes to installation instructions.</li> </ul><p>SOLUTION</p> <p>Use the following steps to download the operating system onto your microSD card.</p> <ol><li>Visit the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support">Acer support website</a> and click on <strong>Drivers and Manuals</strong>.</li> <li>Search for your product model, enter your serial number, or select your model from the list.</li> <li>Click on the <strong>Documents or O.S.</strong> tab.</li> <li>Click <strong>download</strong>. Once complete, open the folder where the file is saved.</li> <li>Right click on the downloaded file and choose <strong>Extract all</strong>. Open the new folder that is created.</li> <li>There will be two files types, a text document and folder. Right click on the folder and choose <strong>Copy</strong>.</li> <li>Navigate to the microSD card files, right click on an empty space, choose <strong>Paste</strong>.</li> <li>Once the process is complete, remove the microSD card and insert it into the Acer tablet.</li> </ol><p>Use the following steps to enter the recovery menu.</p> <ol><li>Power off the tablet completely.</li> <li>Hold the tablet in landscape mode, with the volume key on the top.</li> <li>Press and hold <strong>volume down</strong> and the <strong>power button</strong> to power on the tablet.</li> <li>When the tablet vibrates, release the <strong>power button</strong> only.</li> <li>When the tablet vibrates a second time, release the <strong>volume down</strong> button and press and hold the <strong>volume up</strong> button.</li> <li>When <strong>Booting recovery kernel image</strong> is shown in the upper left corner of the screen, release the <strong>volume up</strong> button.</li> <li>When the Android system recovery menu is displayed, enter the recovery menu.</li> <li>Use the <strong>volume down</strong> button to highlight <strong>wipe data/factory reset</strong>, then press the <strong>power button</strong>.</li> <li>Use the <strong>volume down</strong> button to select <strong>Yes - delete all user data</strong>, then press the <strong>power button</strong>.</li> <li>Highlight <strong>reboot system now</strong>, then press the <strong>power button</strong>.
