No screen, no anything. If the LEDs aren't lit, you would say the laptop is just turned off. The leds are the only responsible to the power on.

No, it's definitely not the screen

If both LEDs are lit, the power is on. If the power is on but no screen, then either the BIOS or the VGA screen cable are the likely issues. As mentioned earlier, VGA screen cable failures are more common than BIOS problems.

This applies to most BUT NOT ALL laptops. If you suspect otherwise for your own laptop due to a service center mishap, why did you originally bring it to them in the first place?

I am more than sure it is not the screen or vga cable, the laptop never showed indication of that. Well, I can try flashing the bios, although I feel it will not happen at all. Still thinking it is weird for the screen to stay not lit due to bios.

Then why did you have it serviced?

    Hoping… What else can I do …

The laptop is old enough (almost ten years now) that even if they were willing to reflash the BIOS in the hope that it would fix the problem, it's likely not worth the effort and expense. Better to spend that money on a replacement, even if the replacement is a used system.

    Hoping for what?

Please, I'm asking you why it was originally serviced if the screen was working OK at the time you took it in for service?

What was the service center trying to fix if not the screen? Now the screen is also not working after originally being serviced for another problem.

    What was the other problem?

The screen is off and also the whole laptop doesn't work.

No other problem. The one and only problem was that the laptop was taking time (30 minutes to a week) to power on after power blue LED blinking. The screen and the whole laptop were not working until it powers on by itself after a period of time shown above. Once it powers on, the whole laptop worked as a new machine with no any issues. Now that the power blue LED is not blinking but solid lit - that doesn't mean that the laptop is fixed and the screen doesn't work. Just everything is absolutely the same like all those months before, only they removed the RAM and now the power blue LED is solidly lit (no blinking).

This time I brought it to another service just looking for another opinion and that's the result. The same nothing. Months ago the previous service told me that no electricity goes out from the chipset, now the second service said that everything is fine inside but the BIOS is the problem. And I still don't believe that, there's just no logic…

What was the service center trying to fix before the screen went off?

A guy who works electronics repair. Again: it is wrong to conclude that the screen went off. The laptop just doesn't power on. The power blue led is lit now, but that doesn't mean a working machine.

Was the screen working when you gave it to the electronics repair guy?

What was he supposed to fix when you gave it to him?

How would he in advance before open and check it inside. I just told him the symptoms and the same I shared here when I submitted this thread.

If he said the BIOS needs to be flashed to fix the laptop, then give him the BIOS file so he can flash the BIOS.

Yes, I asked him and he said he doesn't want to spend time for that. Can you imagine?!?

Would you give me step-by-step instruction how to flash the BIOS from USB flash drive? I already downloaded the file and extracted the ZHK116.exe file. Now, do I have only to write this file to a USB flash drive or it needs some different operation? Asking you because this file is created to flash the BIOS in Windows. Since I have to do it from USB, then it has to be different, right? A bootable USB or something else?

I extracted the files from ZHK116.exe:

    BiosImageProc.dll, Ding.wav, FlsHook.exe, FlsHookDll.dll, FWUpdLcl.exe, InsydeFlash.exe, iscflash.dll, iscflash.sys, iscflashx64.sys, platform.ini, xerces-c_2_7.dll

    So what to do now?

Take the file to the electronics repair guy. He should know how to do this for Acer laptops with corrupted BIOS.
