Do you think this will work?

    Intel AX211NGW

    M.2 slot Wi-Fi 6E AX

    Requires CNVio2

Yes the AX200 seems to be the least expensive m.2 card that should fit the newer board. As for the battery, the only way to help answer the question and to move on from this issue is to connect a good BIOS RTC coin cell.

Are these two WiFi cards what I exactly need? AX200 and AX210. I can get AX200 for $15 and AX210 for $25.

    AX200 should be safer bet.

None of these newer m.2 cards are 100% guaranteed to be fully compatible with older mainboard designs. However, the Intel AX200 has a good reputation for compatibility with older designs and is often cheapest.

Do not try the AX201 or AX211 models, they use a different protocol over the M.2 bus and will very likely not work.

Well, I received another motherboard. And another problem appeared. The laptop freezes on the ACER starting logo. After power on/off few times, a blue screen:

    BSD Error
    Error code: 0x0000001

Whatever I do (trying to enter Safe Mode or any of the other menu options), everything stops up to here.
Tried repairing via USB boot flash - nothing. The laptop just freezes on the Acer logo.

Windows has to be repaired/reinstalled & reactivated from a USB stick on another motherboard using the F12 cold usb boot option. What about the AX200 wifi card?

Actually that's what I did - re-installed Windows 11 and now is fine.
After installing the previous motherboard, the system run as ever before, I didn't expect that I will have to re-install it now after installing the new motherboard. The only thing I need to fix is the not working touchpad, still not sure if it's because of the driver, because it should work even while installing Windows…

By the way, this motherboard is with N3540, which significantly improved the system. The WiFi socket is ok.

I found out that the previous one was incompatible because of its part number DAZHKDMB6E0, while the motherboard of my Acer ES1-111 is DA0ZHKMB6C0. That's why the previous one was with M.2 socket and without CMOS socket. if I only knew that in advance…

By the way, do you know some very efficient and reliable way to install the drivers (Driver Genius, Driver Booster, etc.)? Because I can't download any drivers from Acer official website since there is no ES1-111 available with N3540. All they are for N2840.

Only for models that are certified to run Win11 and available Acer Win11 driver downloads. Your model was only certified to run properly under Win8x, Win10 or some Linux distros Accordingly, some hardware features might not work properly under Win11. DriverBooster has usually been about the best but again only for the operating systems the machine was certified for.

Actually I installed successfully all the drivers. Unfortunately, the touchpad just doesn't work with this mainboard for some reason. I checked carefully the touchpad ribbon cable, disconnected/reconnected it multiple times. Also, the touchpad should work even before or while installing a new operating system, but it doesn't :(

"Should" doesn't mean "Will". Still not unusual to find that the only way to navigate, select & enter is via the KB and tab/enter/space keys before the operating system loads. Especially with low end machines in which the BIOS firmware initializes only the KB, video, HDD & USB port as basic input/output devices.

No, the touchpad always worked while installing Windows before. Even at the beginning of install there is a check square about the agreement, you know. I can't check it if the touchpad didn't work that time. This time I connected the mouse via USB to do the job.

Do you know how to display the touchpad settings in BIOS? Even here in this forum I found a topic - Ctrl+S, but it doesn't work on my BIOS. The current BIOS is:

    v1.03 InsyderH20 Rev 5.0

I found a way to display the hidden BIOS menu, unfortunately no touchpad settings appeared.

P.S.: I remember that in the previous motherboard BIOS there was a touchpad settings: Advanced / Basic. I set it to Basic so that the touchpad works. So I think it's Advanced by default in this BIOS and can't find a way to change it to make the touchpad working again.

Yes, but Win8x & Win10 installation software often initialize or provide built-in drivers for some I/O hardware like this, not the BIOS firmware. This happens even less in Win11 installations because newer BIOS chips do indeed handle this automatically. In your case, if the on/off/etc options are not available in the BIOS menu, then only a BIOS update or undocumented BIOS modification might make these options available.

It's not because of Win11, it was installed on the laptop when it was still working with the original old mainboard.

If you are using the same Win11 version & installation stick, then the failure to initialize is probably due to different mainboard BIOS & Acer serial number id (SNID). Furthermore, the Win11 license is still tied to the SNID of the old board, not yet to the new board.

By the way, the seller provided me with a .bin file after I asked for a BIOS which can show the Touchpad options (Basic/Advanced) in the main menu. But as long as I know, flashing a BIOS with .bin file is not possible via Windows system.

Please look at the BIOS information: Acer Aspire V3-112P, v1.03, InsydeH20 Rev 5.0.

Since the new mainboard of Acer Aspire V3-112P is installed on my ES1-111 and the laptop works more than great but with not working touchpad, is it risky if I download and install Acer Aspire V3-112P's drivers? And what if I also download and update Acer Aspire V3-112P's BIOS on my ES1-111?

If I understand right, now my ES1-111 has turned into V3-112P at all. What do you think?
