After a few attempts, my Acer SW3-016 still refuses to find a bootable device, why is this the case?

OK. You now have 2 delete partition operations that are pending and thus not yet complete.  So now you must apply these changes from an option in one of the dropdown tabs, probably Gparted on your version.

    (1) Shut the machine off.
    (2) Then insert your favorite 32-bit Linux distro installation stick.
    (3) Then turn the machine on and immediately start tapping the F12 key to boot from the stick.
    (4) Try to install the iso on the unallocated emmc chip

It didn’t work. At this point I might go back to windows again

What happens? What distro are you using? Installation stick must be GPT scheme. BIOS must remain in UEFI mode.

    (1) What distro iso are you trying to use?
    (2) Are you preparing the iso with Rufus?

Perhaps posting a screenshot of the Rufus preparation page would help to make sure all the options are properly set.

    I used Rufus + I’m attempting to install linux lite, which I just realised isn’t 32bit

I chose ISO Mode + GPT and the UEFI Option thing. + I also wiped the disk via GParted too

Please post a screenshot of the Rufus setup with the 32-bit iso. If it fails, I suggest that you try to install 32-bit LinuxMint Cinnamon 19.3 iso since it has one of the better installers.

Please post a screenshot of Rufus as you set up the iso.

With the ISO you suggested I cannot select the GPT Partioning method, but with the Linux Lite 64bit I could

Try changing the target system to UEFI only (NOT BIOS NOR UEFI CSM).

No difference, I'm beginning to really think a new laptop should become more of a priority.

I used your suggestions, and made a bootable USB out of it, installation went fine but didn't end too well as the no bootable device error still cropped up

Partition Scheme should be GPT for UEFI boot, not MBR.
