After a few attempts, my Acer SW3-016 still refuses to find a bootable device, why is this the case?

I can’t select it for some reason? Is there something I am supposed to do to disable it?

You must enter the BIOS menu with the supervisor password.

I did for some reason though, I don’t understand why it isn’t allowing it to be selected

Did you perhaps set a user password instead of a supervisor password?

"SUPERVISOR password for changes and should be grayed out if the USER password was used to enter setup."

I 100% Set the supervisor password. I don't know why this laptop seems to defy all the solutions...

Try to erase all secure boot settings option in Security tab.

I think I made some progress, the secure boot mode changed from standard to custom when I reset the settings

What options are available in custom?

We need to take a look at the emmc chip with a bootable gparted usb stick. Gparted is a parttion editor with a straightforward graphical interface that can handle both Win & Lin file systems. Go to this link to prepare it by one of the methods you're comfortable with. Then boot from it and post a screenshot of what graphical menu it boots into. Then we'll go from there.

Gparted is sometimes included in the boot Linux distro  installation USB in the first screen that appears after booting from the USB.

Also, the laptop isn’t booting into the GParted iso… I tried via the disks program and unetbootin, also dd command and the balena etcher program

Press and hold the power button to turn machine off. Turn it back on and immediately start tapping the F12 key for a menu to boot from the bootable USB stick. You want secure boot disabled if possible. If the button to change it says enabled, then it's already disabled.

    Tapping F12 doesn’t seem to work… I don’t understand
