I did raise it for more than an inch in the nitro sense screenshot. I guess I really should replace the thermal paste since I have this PC for almost a year and a half and i've never done it once. Is it something a complete amateur can do by himself or should I see a professional for that ?

About the drivers I download and install them with the GeForce Experience app

What temperatures do you see while machine is idling?

When Idle cpu temp is between 60-70 degree and gpu more around 50-60 while plugged in.

While on battery temps for cpu are around 50 and gpu around 40-50.

I said idle but actually I had google chrome opened with several tabs. I'll send a nitrosense screenshot of it being really idle when I have the time.

And this time doing a clean re-install of my gpu driver and rebooting did not fix it

I notice that FPS even got worse in some games compared to before during this problem. With the same in-game graphic settings

Nevermind what I said about having even less fps, it's actually the same decrease as before during the problem. What is strange is that it's been 3 days in a row since it keeps working fine around evening and not working anymore when I start the PC up in the morning

Check internet speed test in morning & evening.

50-60*C is normal with chrome browser running. It's a resource hog.

Do you have any non-Micros o ft virus scanners running in the background?

I have the free version of avast.

For what I know speedtest always give me the same numbers. I don't know what my internet connection would do with that ?

This can cause FPS & other issues depending on the game or sections in the games. Most folks don't need 3rd scanners as Windows Defender and Malicious Software Removal tool are quite adequate and updated regularly. I advise that you remove it, not just disable.

Also, check internet speed immediately after you start noticing FPS drops.

Uninstalling avast and rebooting did not fix it.

This is the result of speedtest with game lagging. (green is download and purple is upload)

This is the speedtest with no game launched.

Upload speeds seem to be very slow. What does you internet provider claim are max upload speeds for your plan? If you're playing interactive games on line, the upload speeds can be important.

Internet provider claims 26 mbps of download and 2.44 mbps in upload

This still suggests an internet speed issue at these times. You must run the speedtest exactly when it's working fine and exactly when it not working anymore

It didn't get back to normal today. I'll see how it is tomorrow morning.

OK. When it's normal again, immediately do an internet speed test. Thanks.

I just downloaded GPU-Z and aren't gpu clock and memory clock way too low ? It doesn't change while in-game or not.

But they are really low in comparison with my integrated intel UHD gpu.

Maybe I don't understand what those variables mean.

Was battery charge LED steady blue before you turned the machine on today?
