Turn off the machine. Unplug charger. When you gently insert and withdraw a paperclip into the pinhole, does it feel like it's a spring-loaded switch? If yes, then gently insert and withdraw the paperclip in a 'down & up motion' several times to try to clean the switch contacts. Then plug in the charger for about an hour --- make sure the battery LED is steady on yellow or blue. Then unplug the charger again. Try to turn on the machine without the charger again. Jack E/NJ

    YES it feels like spring-loaded.
Done multiple times up and down.

I plug the charger, LED lights about 2 minutes and goes away.

Do you still have your old battery to see if it behaves the same way? Jack E/NJ

I just want to try to repeat this experiment with the old battery that you did earlier with the new battery to see if the old battery gives the same results as the new battery. Does the battery LED light for about 2 minutes and goes away after the same experiment? Jack E/NJ

Yes, but is it still yellow with the old battery? Is the LED still turned on?  Remember, the new battery only stayed yellow for 2 minutes then turned off. Jack E/NJ

Good. Leave it plugged in even if the laptop is shutdown. Jack E/NJ

I'd now like to see another battery report like we did earlier. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/697898/#Comment_697898
