But I will still try that method, since I have heard that it will help.

I think you're probably destined to slather the PUs and heat sinks with a layer of ArticMX4 paste. Gets pretty hot with all that stuff crowded inside a 15 inch laptop making the internal fans go full tilt. Jack E/NJ

But I will still try that method, since I have heard that it will help. Also yea I may take it to a repair shop and have them repaste everything. I find it wierd that it still did it under no load, so it can’t be a GPU issue if the gpu is idling. When I restarted it this morning it also did the black screen at the Predator logo, it did it 3 times until it took me into the advanced start options, so I have it booted in safe mode.

I just did the battery reset and as I’ve seen by @Red-Sand to take the ram out and clean with an eraser gently, when I did this, I noticed there was like a liquid substance on them, I found that to be wierd, they are now dry, I will test the laptop later.

Also, something to note, I’m looking at my wattage on my g3-572 and I’m noticing my wattage looks lower in throttlestop that what it seems like on my PH315-51.

Another idea I have had, I’ve been thinking about swapping the SSD out of my g3-582 and placing it in my ph315-51, seeing if that makes a difference, it would rule out the SSD causing the issue.

Not easily if they're boot drives. Jack E/NJ

Or maybe testing out windows 8.1 and see if it’s more of a windows 10 bug

OGMikeEach new rapid fire major Win10update is almost like a new Windows version under the previous Windows numbering conventions. We'd probably be up to (or down to) Windows19 with the May revision. So you'd probably be better off simply resetting the thing to the factory-fresh Win10 version it shipped with to see if it's an update Win10 version bug or a hardware issue. Guaranteed to have device driver problems trying to mess with Win8.1.  Jack E/NJ

Ive done atleast 4 factory-fresh starts on it already, ive also ran UserBenchmarks to see if anything wierd was going on with the hardware, but everything came back normal. I will run another and post a screenshot.

Im also going to run MalwareBytes and see if maybe there is any malware or some other virus that has somehow crawled its way through the cracks

The background usage im assuming is from running a few tabs on firefox along with some extensions, and 2 or so apps running.

@OGMike  You adapter its 180w (19.5V X 9.23A) and the more devices u have using the usb ports the more the battery will discharge i don't think ppl realize this its a gaming laptop nor a normal laptop it will use all the power from the adapter and battery to support the cpu/gpu high power usage in high demanding tasks/games i recommend you to get a self powered usb hub (Anker) they are the best and connect everything there then just the hub to the laptop it will decrease the power drain from your usb ports for ex i have a 5tb external 2.5hdd in an 10gbps usb/usb-c enclosure and i can certainly say if i play really demanding games running from the external hdd the battery will discharge but not much to the point of loosing all performance and make me stop everything and recharge it a gain to keep going but if i play games running from my 2tb m.2 ssd or even from the 1tb hdd nothing happens and i only have  a mouse plugged in so im just using 2 usb ports one 2.0 and the 3.0 for the external hdd because the usb-c port gives much less performance than usb 3.0 in my case for my hdd and i use the laptop keyboard to play everything (that why its there for) also have a Predator Atheon 500 (gift by Acer) never tested it but im pretty sure if i wont connect it to a good powered usb hub i will have battery drain for sure when playing some games

@xapim so what you are saying is it could very well be due to battery drainage? I mean it just happened again, and i wasnt playing a demanding game, i was playing Battalion 1944 and just out of the blue, black screen and then the laptop restarted. It will even do it when im just browsing (plugged in).

@OGMike yes it could be due to that but it could also be something else try to play without only with the laptop itself and one mouse using the laptop keyboard and power the cooler you have directly from a socket to see it it still shuts down/black screen if it still does the same i would say your windows its bugged backup everything you need to another drive and ALT+F10 on boot logo to go back to Acer factory (fresh install do not keep your files)

@xapim okay so I have tried that but no success. I may have found the culprit, I was looking in my reliability monitor and saw 2 errors, LiveKernelEvent Code: 1a8, hardware error. I don’t think it is necessarily hardware being faulty as the laptop runs normal, but I did see that my Nvidia drivers had an error, I think it said the drivers did not install properly and the time stamp correlated to the time I installed them I think it was last night or the night prior. So it looks like my drivers may be bad???

We seem to be re-visiting a lot of the same territory that we covered earlier plus fretting over some event log entries that often mean little to nothing. If you do/did a full erase everything factory reset, cut down on the amount of extra power-hungry devices plugged into this laptop (especially that fancy 5-fan cooler with all the pretty blue LED lights), and the thing still cuts out or throttles from overheating, then you need to slather the C/GPU & heatsink surfaces with ActicMX4 paste. @JackE alright I will continue to test this theory, I will just back up everything that I need onto my external SSD and do a fresh install.

Use the erase-everything  ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset UNLESS you previously clean installed a Microsoft generic version of Win10. If you previously installed the generic version, the ACER version is probably gone by now. Jack E/NJ

I tried alt f10 but it wouldn’t go into it so I’m going to have to do it through windows settings when I get back.
