So you thought that installing BIOS v1.26 would "Fix F9 load default then save & shutdown will power on issue"? So please explain how it relates to fixing whatever problem you were having with BIOS v1.19. Jack E/NJ

I updated to latest BIOS due to seeing if outdated BIOS were the cause to my laptop having the random black screen issue, so that is why I updated to v1.26

Usually the bios have some release notes on what the fixes are i am still on 1.20 and never had any issues whatsoever and not updating because theres no need to fix whats not broken you black screen issue can be anything even the display cable a bit loose on either side mobo or display itself but i sure has nothing to do nothing to do with bios as u said u updated and the issue persists

As soon as I get back from work on Friday I will try and revert back to 1.15 and hopefully that will fix the issue, as I read it has and Acer flames it does

Also, I’m thinking windows 10 itself may be the cause, win 10 has the links state power management and apparently it’s really buggy and in can cause the issue I’m having so as soon as I can I will do some troubleshooting on that.

OGMike>>>when i first got it about a week ago it would freeze with a black screen>>>

If this problem happened with factory installed v1.19 and is in fact why you tried v1.26 to fix the problem, then I suggest that you return the machine to the vendor/seller as defective for a refund or exchange ASAP before the vendor's RMA policy period expires --- generally less than a few weeks. Not only would ACER warranty service probably take longer, trying to install an earlier version is not a straightforward process and has an even higher risk of bricking or creating even worse side effects than installing a later version.  Jack E/NJ

That’s most likely what I will end up doing, I have already contacted the vendor and they have approved me for a refund, I just hate to give up on fixing it myself because I love the laptop, even though I have a desktop, but it doesn’t run nearly as well as the laptop due to it being built years ago and some of the part aren’t very compatible with each other, but I will probably send it off by this weekend and as soon as I get my refund I’m ordering another one.

Suppose? Why do you suppose it's v1.21? Press WIN+R. Enter 'msinfo32'. What bios version number do you see in the right pane? Jack E/NJ

im still trying to solve this issue, i dont really want to give up on this, with it being a really good laptop, other than this issue

So does that mean you want to risk bricking the machine messing with trying an earlier firmware version? The risk is significantly higher going down than going up.  If it gets bricked, the vendor is even less likely to issue an RMA than the way it is right now. Jack E/NJ

okay so I may have found my issue, I had a portable SSD plugged in, and ive read some peripherals can cause issue like the black screens (windows 10 common issue) I plugged it into my other laptop, launched bf5, didn't even get into playing the game, and boom, laptop freezing looping the sound rapidly and became unresponsive, so im beginning to think it was m portable SSD afterall, although my other laptop did not black screen, it did a similar action (which my PH315-51 has done as well) so I am currently testing my PH315-51 without my portable SSD, and if all goes well, im going to pull the 1tb hardrive with all my games from my other laptop and install it into this one. BTW my other laptop is a acer predator helios 300 g3-572.

Pretty sure that would be your issue if everything works fine without it plugged in :)

getting random blue screen of death

Hmmm that's odd, when a blue screen happens there will be a message at the bottom usually telling you what may have caused the issue i.e. Memory, WHEA_COMMUNIICATION ERROR, actually had that one earlier with my other laptop, so on and so forth.
