Hit ctrl-alt-del and select Task Manager then "Performance" (second button on left). Is anything running over 80%. Have seen some cloning software drop "extras".

Are you able to revert to Windows 10 ? That may be the simplest answer.

If cannot boot to Windows, can you open the BIOS settings ? Where did you buy it ?
-
Does the USB adapter have an external power connection or are you using a powered USB hub ? I have seen drives not connect when power is low.

I'd contact the Acer sales department and see it they have an order for your name or address. Also check your credit card for a charge from Acer.

I read the initial report as a Western Digital 512 (476) GB SN520 series. I'd boot to DOS (cmd) , run chkdsk/f, and see what happens.

No specific model though have been several questions lately about desktop upgrades (mainly to meet Windows 11 requrements). My experiences were with AMD 4600g CPUs (now have three) since were on sale on Amazon (under a Benjamin). When bored I often build or upgrade computers (now have two 317 notebooks with SSD replacing…

Just ran into something similar in a new build. Turned out it had the rong graphics driver and could not just uninstall/reboot. Had to download the graphics suite from the graphics manufacturer and execute it. Modern times. BTW we really need to know which laptop and which graphics card and how did you install it or did it…

BTW, if AMD cpu is a "G" model (has Radeon Graphics) you may not only need a new driver but uninstall/reboot may not work. It may be necessary to go to the AMD Radeon site, download the driver suite, and execute. My symptom was only one of dual monitors was working and it varied which monitor worked. Back in the daze it…

BTW a USB BluRay drive is about $10 more than a standard CD/DVD/DVD-DL. No reason unless you have some. (another failed standard like Video Disks and 3D).

Most SSDs come with cloning software. If replacing a HDD with a SSD this is the method I use.

Just make sure the "Microsoft account"…

Try https://www.displayport.org/ Is your Type C v3.1 or above ?

I'd try installing DisplayPort and see what happens.

Try booting into the repair mode and try a "startup repair". Otherwise you can use the recovery disk you created after receiving the PC and restore it.

That unit appears to have a 160GB hard disk drive. I'd just remove the drive, buy a USB adapter, and mount it as an external drive on your new laptop. No password involved.

After about an hour I could not make a USB DVD player work on my 317 Chromebook. However saving to a flash drive as an .mp4 worked fine.

That says you can connect but the router is not providing DHCP. If deliberate you may need to use a static IP and fill in the DNS settings yourself. What does ipconfig/all report ?

That was in 2018. Apparently Chrome no longer supports VLC (just opens a useless square). Advice seems to be to load Linux and go from there. Just spent an hour with a 317-1ht and could not make it work.

Just noticed from 2018. Chrome has changed and VLC no longer works.
