Ese problemas es mas de Windows. Fallas de configuraciones el la orden de dia. Nadie parece estar al dia en cuanro a Software/hardware. Seguimos.....

Una pantalla negra? No hay mensajes de error, cambios de intensidad? Algun sonido de inicio? Alguna conbinacion de pitidos?

Oh si vino con linux y cambia el SO a Windows Acer no te dara apoyo esto cambia algo las cosas. Un equipo con linux de fabrica no trae BIOS eso es cosa de Windows, por tanto si trata de instalar un BIOS, va ha terminar con una MB posiblemente arruinadaaa ya que la unidad esta predeterminada para Linux.

Corre actualizaciones, si tienes una board Atheros hay muchas variaciones de drivers que puedes tratar, si la han abierto verifica que la antena este conectada correctamente al pin que va. haz pruebas en differentes routers , let me know

Triste. Una vez cambias el SO pierdes la particion de fabrica debido a que el proceso formatea el HD y limpia pasadas particiones y demas informacion. Llama a Acer y ordena discos de recuperacion o compra tu propia copia de SO no veo otra. Suerte

Did you run automatic updates just to make sure you have the latest Bios update? Baterry can be defective you may want to do a health check on it. Other than that I would think on MB.

Your image is corrupted. 2 options send it to acer for manual recovery or made a SO copy out of a similar model into an SD card. Acer will no sned you any recovery software that their bussiness. Also you cant r.o.o.t it, with Cynogen o something similar it will mess your warranty but will work better thou.

Get another DVD/media application. try the DVD/CD in other unit check which software you are running in the spare/test pc if it runs duplicate on your unit. Versions, compatibility problems may cause this.

if you are in warranty send it to service dont fight the system let them worry about it. Drivers update wont fix the problem there's something elso happening with that MB.

Go back to your factory values just to check if everything still works. If the system works under the OS that the factory release with the unit your problem is configuration, I will say the way you upgraded.
