What connection are you using? HDMI? The HP 15 DW0 doesn't tell us enough to know which laptop you have…

Check to make sure Windows isn't shutting that USB port down when sleeping. It needs to be awake to even see the touch…

Bring up the Display settings and show us how each of the displays is configured…

Boy, that is an oldie, vintage 2011 IIRC. Not upgradeable to Windows 11, you need much newer hardware to do W11.

OK, the SATA power cable that supports a DVD drive is: The SATA power for HDDs and SSDs and not ODDs is: The front bezel for an optical drive is: And that plastic bracket that clips the drive into place is:

For most users it's easier to just purchase the cable pre-assembled. Typically when you make up a cable yourself you end up with a lot of extra parts, since it's not cost effective (or sometimes even possible) to but those parts one at a time.

OK, let's look at the BIOS settings for booting… Can you take a picture of the Boot Options page?

Typically Z: is a ram drive temporarily created for installation purposes.

KB5039302 was a preview update from June, just skip it and install the final versions, not the previews.

Yes, if I remember right the Aspire M3970 models were released in 2011 or thereabouts. Likely old enough that any contemporary reviews would have been removed by now.

I believe you use a Y cable to connect the two fans to the one four pin connector.

OK, from the command prompt execute flash.bat as described in the instructions for Windows. What does it display? You should be able to copy and paste the results from the command line window. Don't execute flash_64.bat, the batch file will determine if that's what is needed and do that for you.

Which Swift Go 14 model did you purchase? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFG14-xxx-xxxx. Battery runtime is often determined by the apps that are running, and the base build for these machines usually have a bunch of third party apps and utilities…

OK, are you using the same USB-C cable when testing the monitor with both machines? There are USB-C power delivery cables that won't work for data, and you might be using one of those… The drivers look fine.

IIRC you should have 16GB of memory, and with that I wouldn't expect Windows itself to use 60%. You likely had a bunch of other stuff running, especially if you hadn't removed any of the included trials and such. Windows 11 is much better at handling memory than Windows 10 was, but does end up using about 2GB more when…

His CXI3 supports up to 16GB of memory, using two SO-DIMM modules. Here's the memory spec: How much storage does he have? They came with either a 32GB or 64GB SSD in the M.2 slot, and if he's running low on room that might affect the overall performance. ChromeOS doesn't need as much storage as, say, Windows, but it does…

What laptop model do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Once we know what you have we can lookup what's required for your model. Many of the newer designs use a USB-C charger, but the size is dependent on the design of the…

Which country did you purchase it in? Are you using the Acer site for that country to try the registration? I don't think I've ever had Acer try to use my phone for registration here in the USA, but I haven't gotten a new system to register since last December, so they may have tightened up security since then.

Drivers for the system are typically provided by the Linux developers, since Acer doesn't ship any units with Linux installed. The design is old enough now that they should have camera drivers for it though. Have you checked with the Debian folks yet?

Let us k now how it works out.
