@Domicdts Yes, you must use the L version of the BIOS since your mainboard came from factory with L version of BIOS. That's fine if you want to use Windows, but you still must use the L version of the BIOS.

There's two different versions of the mainboard that came from the factory (ok, technically 3, but for compatibility sake, I'll say two.) XC-605 Windows version (pre-installed with Windows) XC-605 Linpus linux version (pre-installed with Linpus) The Linpus version of the mainboard uses the BIOS with the L (e.g. P11.B4L)…

The instructions for the BIOS update were for a circa 2014 Acer desktop XC-605. Please don’t attempt those instructions if you don’t have an XC-605. The original poster didn’t need to update his BIOS. His problem was that he bought the wrong RAM—-he mixed 1.35V with 1.5V RAM on his Acer/Intel H81 XC-605 mainboard. So the…

Is F the drive letter of your USB drive? In the instructions, I used drive letter F as an example. Also, when you copied the WIN and ROM folders to the USB drive, you have to copy them to the root directory.

@yoyogal Since you’re using the TPlink wireless, I would recommend disabling the wireless radios on the ATT router because I think it’s confusing you.

Prior to your attempt to re-install, you said that your system was freezing and going blank. That could mean that your hard drive is failing and you need a new HDD. Your computer is around 6 or 7 years old (plus or minus) and that’s when most mechanical hard drives start to fail…5-8 years.

The link below is Microsoft documentation. You can check to see if your digital license is for Windows 10 Pro. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/activate-windows-c39005d4-95ee-b91e-b399-2820fda32227 On my TC-605, I had a somewhat similar problem. It came with Windows 8.1. I upgraded to Windows 10 through Windows…

You should suspect a power supply problem because it’s a power supply problem. You can get the power supply below for $53 on Amazon and your problem will be solved. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=110-BQ-0650-V1
-
It’s most likely a power supply problem. I would replace the power supply. If you’re still under warranty, you can contact Acer. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/577093/acer-tc-885-accfli5-rebooting-every-few-hours

@PACPEP Can you post CPU-Z screenshots of both sticks of your ram. (the memory tab and SPD tab) https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.79-en.exe?utm_mediu Also, can you post your complete model number. AN515-57-????

How does your computer behave if you remove the HDD?

Here's the parts that I was talking about in your other thread (Helios PH315-53). Again, your base clock will be 2933 but according to Kingston, the HyperX ram **should** auto-overclock itself to approximately 3200.…
-
I see. @Easwar looked at your previous posts. Pretty smart. :)The only way you’re going to get 3200 is by installing 2 sticks of plug-n-play auto overclocking ram….e.g. HyperX impact sodimm DDR4-3200. But still, your base clock is going to be 2933 but the ram should auto overclock itself to approximately 3200.…

I think the 2021 model with i7-11800H will be able to clock at 3200, but not 100% sure. I’m not even sure if it’s been released yet. Hopefully @Easwar can look in to it and find out for sure. I’m pretty sure the i7-11800H will support DDR4 3200 and clock at 3200. Don’t worry @@Easwar will find out. :)…

@lordrichcroft Your AN515-57 doesn't support XMP. However.... The only enthusiast ram that I'm aware of that can give you 'better JEDEC PlugNPlay timings @3200 is in the link below. https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-FURY-3200MHz-KF432S20IBK2-32/dp/B097QJ25NY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1 The Kingston Hyper X…

@TheMutt06 You can check your cpu temp and cpu fan operation to see if it’s overheating. SSDs are much faster. Good luck. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/589682/cpu-overheating-aspire-tc-780 The link below can be useful for seeing what SSDs other people have installed.…

I've already given you two different 16 GB ram parts that were tested by Acer to work in your laptop.....so.....I'll repost the one I would buy again. Good luck. https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-HMA82GS6CJR8N-VK-PC4-21300-DDR4-2666MHz-Unbuffered/dp/B07NBK5467

Ok great. It seems like you got a great price on that gskill, but honestly you’re using a 2021 motherboard/cpu and it may not like the chip density (dram density) of your budget gskill ram. I’d probably steer clear of the budget/bargain ram. I remember a couple years ago someone had the same problem and they were using…
