Errr never mind. I see it’s just a service that can be simply disabled or use gpedit

Yeah I read that before above, I meant does anyone have a link to do this procedure

H500 here, 1tb 970 evo nvme works just fine

How do you stop windows from fetching updates automatically?

@metal masher i second that backpack. It is awesome. It’s massive, tons of space, excellent padding and protection. Excellent build quality.

I use this one. My review with photos of H500 in it is there as well. everki titan backpack would also be great, but for me I needed something cleaner. Everki Advance Laptop Bag - Briefcase, Fits up to 18.4-Inch (EKB407NCH18) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZWN8YA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.aLFCbY041TY6

Turn off optaine switch bios to AHCI, you also may need to swap slots physically depending on ur set up. I did the exact same thing to mine, ditched the platter drive and stock SSD, installed 1Tb Nvme m.2 970 evo, and a sata ssd in the other slot. Runs great.

Is ur bios a set to AHCI?

85 is getting up there. I run my fans at 100% while gaming. Sure it sounds like a vacuum cleaner but chances are you are wearing headsets anyways. it will cool the cpu way down, I bet you would see temps in the low 70’s w the fans on high.

Try swapping physical positions of the drives and report back

Unfortunately I don’t have quantifiable information to give you. I have not calibrated the display with my datacolor spider but I feel like the contrast and colors are vivid. Can’t remark about accuracy. It’s IPS so it’s not going to generate contrast like a VA panel. Most importantly, it’s a good performer. I don’t feel…

It’s a good screen. If anything I feel like I’m constantly turning down the brightness. Not much blb or IPS glow, very even panel. contrast is more than adequate for gaming, it looks great. I love 144hz refresh rate. Running at a low resolution of 1080p, it should have a few years of great frame rates. There is a dell R17…

I run 1 tb 970 evo nvme with no problem. Swap the lots, turn off optain raid, reformat and install windows.

You don’t need to use the Acer restore image. I took out Acer SSDs and installed my own. Go through the support page on Acer website and install the drivers there after you finish windows install. Things like chipset drivers ect. Pretty much all of them. Do a check for windows update after. Lastly install predator sense…

You can update to latest drivers if you like, they have resolved the clock lock that came with the dec 2nd update

Update to latest video drivers and report back

This is incorrect. ^ the post from Brummy is correct. brummyfan2 said:Hi, Your slot2 is the PCIe/NVMe SSD slot in which you can use either a NVMe SSD or a SATA SSD, slot1 is only for a M.2 SATA SSD.

I would be interested in a sleeve as well to protect from zippers. I’ve been using the thin fabric thing it came packed in. This is the luggage case I’ve been using for the H500. Fits it perfectly. Looks nondescript. I carry the laptop, bulky headsets, sunglasses, work iPad, along with it. And has strap to securely hold it…

Thank you for testing and posting this OP.

The big question will be if the next driver update from nvidia corrects this issue or sustains it.
