Can someone tell me if I should stick to 4.16.34 for now or have they fixed 4.17.22?
Or should I just wait for the next NVIDIA driver update after 4.17.22?

Stick with 4.16.34 or wait for driver after 4.17.22. For me, GPU can't get past 600MHz and I am waiting for the next update. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall previous driver. :s

Don’t worry about uninstalling. Simply install 417.01 driver over it.

Thanks for the suggestion, it did work. Now, in Drivers tab in GeForce Experience, I have 417.22 pop up with express and custom installation. Since that is defective, how to delete that downloaded file of 417.22 so that I get notificationof 417.22 as available only?

Well, I clean installed it this time through the installer and now, 417.22 is showing up for download.

Let the alert sit there and make sure auto update is off. Just continue to use 417.01

The big question will be if the next driver update from nvidia corrects this issue or sustains it.
