  • @belik I wanted to ask whether you installed the Lenovo fan in place of the inverted CPU fan and if so, does it work properly? Thanks.
  • Did you achieve this with NBFC active? Also what kind of tweaking except for upgrading to Windows 1909 did you do?
  • Yeah the latency is quite bad but I've been using NBFC in spite of that. I ordered a plastic fan to replace the aeroblade on the gpu and then I might stay away from the NBFC in case that reduces the GPU fan volume, otherwise having the GPU fan run at like 2500RPM almost all the time is way too loud, combined with it's…
  • Belik do you think it would be possible to find a replacement for the "inverted' fan, one that is in a normal position to remove all the weird sound it makes, or a way to mod-tweak the already existing fan and place it in the way it was meant, not inverted. Also, when making my own fan curve in NBFC, I'm setting it up…
  • The popping has been getting incredibly noticeable but now I am also able to sometimes see the desync in video and audio. Wish anyone could find a solution on how to use NBFC on Helios 300 (2019) without it ***** up the whole audio of the laptop.
  • I have the same problem with the popping, however, I have it even after I disable waves maxxaudio. Furthermore I don't think the problem is because of the NBFC but you only notice it when you have the fans disabled because when the fans are running the popping is hardly noticeable. I actually heard the popping even before…
  • I just read that on their posts on the lenovo forum that the latency and mainly audio desync causes the popping and multiple other things. You can refer to the link that you put above and also on this one where they actually explain the…
  • I tried to follow their procedure but apparently the driver that they were lacking is already installed on the helios I think. Also I checked the audio delay with latencymon and it's true that even before NBFC there is sometimes delay and popping but it is a lot more present with NBFC being on. Maybe someone could figure…
  • You are right belik, I read a couple of posts on their forums and a lot of people were satisfied with the change of the NVMe driver. I will try to replicate what they did and see if brings any results
  • It's possible that after installing NBFC the popping has been occurring more often. Also can you test and see if you get the same popping if you like rapidly press the + button to increase fans, while you have music playing in the background, just to know if it's general or if it's specific just to my case.
  • Could you help out with some more details on how to set up the fan curve in NBFC? Thanks

  • Yes I have the same popping sound and depending on the videos, sometimes it's very pronounced like every second, and sometimes it's a lot rarer. Haven't had time to work on it but did anyone try to go to an older driver or something else?
  • Could you share a picture of the openings that you taped over so I know which are the ones that are not really used for air intake. Thanks
  • What I've been doing is I leave the NBFC fan control service on enabled and put the fans on 0% target fan speed. After that I open the Predator Sense and there I am able to control both the CPU fan and the GPU fan a lot more precisely. For example, I control the CPU fan speed in increments of 60 and I've been usually…
  • I'm also using it and it works great. Thanks a lot.
  • From what I've seen now it occurs regularly by itself and that pop is more located on the left side, whereas when I skip using the right/left arrows the pop occurs on the right side, near the keys. Also, I tried using a different command - next file in a playlist - and I could also hear the same popping. It's not exactly…
  • Also something else which I cannot really explain the reason behind it is a "buzzing sound" that sometimes is produced by the aeroblade. It usually starts when I play games and the fans are under higher load, however, it doesn't occur always. I was trying to test and find out the reason behind it and I think it's some kind…
  • Yes currently I am running windows 1809. I also have some throttlestop profiles that sometimes depending on battery or ac restrict the frequency of the CPU. Could you suggest any vendor that deals with Acer parts and is located in Europe, because I am located in the Netherlands and I would need the fan shipped there?…
  • Thank you for your quick response. For now, I haven't had problems with the temperatures but merely with the annoying sound that the aeroblade produces. Furthermore, while on load/playing games, I don't mind putting the fans to the max, I only mind the sound of the fans while the laptop is on idle. I tried to compare the…
