Tikisin I even tried 2000ms and it still there,
but if I disable NBFC I can't hear it at all,
*I used both the new and old ones

I actually heard the popping even before I installed NBFC,
it happen to me once or twice before but was barely hearable, now it's every 5-10 seconds, so there is a big difference

From what I got till the moment, NBFC can make popping sound to happen more often but uninstalling it won’t solve the problem, it will happen just not so often

Similarly some other parallel activity can occur it more often again

Delete the realtek driver like this:

tried that. the problem is stilll present.... :/ so it looks like no fix for this?
  • I know you entered the notebook model. However, can you provide the exact model and bios version? Example PH315-52-74XE, BIOS 1.08!

It looks like lot of laptops have similar issues
Here is an example with Y540
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-Laptops/Lenovo-Y540-crackling-sound/td-p/4448320/page/25
they have several options to solve it - change nvme driver, change wifi power, limit max cpu clock, some of them satisfied with a solution

I also could try to play with bios settings (unlocked), there is couple of screens reg HD audio but I really have no idea what to change  :o  and it may not help at all so why to waste time that's not my job but acer engineers in the end

You are right belik, I read a couple of posts on their forums and a lot of people were satisfied with the change of the NVMe driver. I will try to replicate what they did and see if brings any results

I hope some solution will be found because I can't live without NBFC anymore  :p

I tried to follow their procedure but apparently the driver that they were lacking is already installed on the helios I think. Also I checked the audio delay with latencymon and it's true that even before NBFC there is sometimes delay and popping but it is a lot more present with NBFC being on. Maybe someone could figure it out how can this be solved and for the popping to at least be reduced if not completely removed.

You mean this popping/glitches sounds can be measured by latencymon app?
Can you elaborate more how to do it?

I also remember DPC latency was the biggest issue with Dell XPS 15 9570 and they try to solve it one year and even now it's not solved completely

I just read that on their posts on the lenovo forum that the latency  and mainly audio desync causes the popping and multiple other things. You can refer to the link that you put above and also on this one where they actually explain the solution https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-Laptops/Lenovo-Y540-Audio-desync-Audio-ahead-of-Video/td-p/4512029/page/19.
Also when you measure the latency in latencymon it mentions that popping sounds could also occur because of the audio desync.
I'm also not very knowledgeable in this area so I'm just referring to what I've read.

it is so disappointing that this issue does not have a simple fix. I mean. Just disable something or change something. Also very concerning that acer do not help people out. Anyway. Thank you guys very much for all the feedback! I hope that someone will see this and leave a comment if the issue is solved for someone. I'll keep looking in google hopefully will find something. Thanks again Guys! Really appreciated!

egydiocoelho xapim maybe I don't sound like but I really appreciate all the work you do for this community, Thank you both

and for my problem I see that only happen when I activate notebook fan control+ wavesmaxx
they have some kind of interference between the two
I tried wavesmaxx without NBFC and it working fine but I hate the fans noise
if I disable wavesmaxx prossising the audio is not so good and I hate it :\
I have the same problem with the popping, however, I have it even after I disable waves maxxaudio. Furthermore I don't think the problem is because of the NBFC but you only notice it when you have the fans disabled because when the fans are running the popping is hardly noticeable. I actually heard the popping even before I installed NBFC, specifically when I wanted to control the fans in the Predator Sense App - so when I would press on the + or - to increase or decrease fan speed, that would immediately cause popping if there was an audio playing in the background.
I reduced the poll interval to 1000 ms but that hasn't changed anything.

Just FYI 1000 is too much, 500 is optimal
