  • Device manager in the computer management window would be where I started. (provided the drivers were unavailable through acer) You will probably have to re-install win8 to get anywhere though. Through the device manager, you can get the details for the components used on the MB (properties), and download them to a USB for…
  • Make sure your java and flash are up to date. From the sounds of it, if only an issue with the sites you mentioned, It may be their sites, not your PC. You can try visiting the page, tapping your alt button to open your menu bar, then selecting 'tools' and 'compatability mode' in the drop down. A green page with a rip down…
  •  CEG-Orochi, as far as I can tell, needs to be re-applied after every reset of your computer. This is probably why it stopped working. I havent encountered this issue before, but from what I can tell, the above mentioned fix is the only thing going right now for most machines with this issue.
  • Hard to say, as from what I can tell the case is what is holding you up...Sometimes you just have to be creative..heh. Here is a link to neweggs section on 'low-profile PCIe video cards'....I think specifying "Low-profile" in your searches, might be key. Newegg
  • Hmmm. That is a common file extention. The error code is typically given for missing codex errors. (Basically types of encoding, lots of different types out there.) This codex pack should have the one you need, and cover any future files you download as well.…
  • That's not it...Perhaps give me what is listed in the "Type" column in your file explorer.
  • What is the extention on the audio file? (example.....File.xxx......where the .xxx would be the extention)
  • Yes. Be sure to open your computer up first and count the number and types of connectors on the existing power-supply and add in the ones you need for any expansions you are doing (I am assuming a GPU upgrade), before shopping for a new one. (They all have different configurations.)
  • If it is a PCI sound card, it should work in your computer. Dont need to be much more specific....They are nothing like graphics cards and dont take much to run. Your question is wide open, you got a wide open answer. (Although a correct one)
  • Here is a google search for pci express sound cards. Click
  • Im seeing that that computer came with a AMD Radeon HD 6450. It should support dual monitors, however the HDMI may be integrated as opposed to part of the gfx card. Here are a few things to try. With the HDMI plugged in, click start, then use the search bar with a search for radeon. Typically, graphics cards will have…
  • Looks like that computer has a PCIe x1 and an x16 available for expansion. Yes, you can slap a new gfx card in that computer. Your power supply is only 220 watt, so pay attention the the wattage needs of any gfx card you are eyeballing. If the gfx card needs more than 220 watts, you will have to upgrade that as well.
  • Please tell us all you can think of about the problem. Not enough information in your post to help.
  • Need a bit more info. What type of router/modem is this? Win8, please go to your search charm. Search for CMD (Should give a command prompt as a result). Type ipconfig in the box, and post the results here. While you have the cmd window open, try this... -make sure you are connected to the modem (even if it is only a…
  • I typically gut all the bloatware out of my PC's with no issues. You should be alright uninstalling all the software. I cannot speak for the partition, as that would be platform specific, and I am not sure what Acer did there. (More than likely it wont be an issue...and if you break it, you can just reinstall)
  • Try clicking start, then right clicking on 'Computer' then selecting 'manage'. Then click on 'device manager' and locate the touchpad. (probably under 'mice and other pointing deviced') Make sure it is not disabled, and give it a right-click to select 'update drivers'.
  • I believe it is telling you that the new Bios file is too large for the ROM on your motherboard. A lot of acers have a "safe" option in the Bios that needs to be turned off to allow big changes, might be worth looking into. (If you disable it and it then works, good. If it is a motherboard issue, it still wont work...worth…
  • Acer America Acer America Corporation 333 West San Carlos Street Suite 1500 San Jose, CA 95110 (408) 533-7700 – Phone (408) 533-4555 – Fax (408) 533-4574 – Sales Fax (Goto the acer homepage, then click the "About" button down at the bottom....Might be a different address for the UK site)
  • What was the Wattage on the old PSU? Wattage on the new? Was the PSU replaced due to the old one going out? Or was it as an upgrade (Perhaps a new GFX card)? (If you installed a new GFX card, and didnt match (or go bigger) the wattage, the new card will not work) Please ensure that you have run power to your hard-drive,…
  • There are a few threads back a ways where folk are talking about installing those OS's on Acers. Use the search, they should be helpful.
