On May 1, 2017 Intel® posted an advisory warning of an industry-wide escalation of privilege vulnerability in Intel® Active Management Technology (AMT), Intel® Standard Manageability (ISM), and Intel® Small Business Advantage (SBA) firmware. This security vulnerability allows an unprivileged attacker to gain control of the manageability features.
The security and privacy of customers' information are priorities for Acer. Acer is working closely with Intel to address the situation and have begun releasing firmware updates to fix the security vulnerability. Please see below for further details.

Systems that feature Intel Active Management Technology (AMT), Intel Standard Manageability (ISM), and Intel Small Business Advantage (SBA) firmware versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x 9.x, 10.x, 11.0, 11.5, and 11.6.For additional information, please visit the Intel Security Center.
Resolution:
Step 1: Determine if you have an Intel AMT, Intel SBA, or Intel ISM capable system. If you determine that you do not have an Intel AMT, Intel SBA, or Intel ISM capable system then no further action is required.- Check the list of affected Acer models at hereunder.or,

- Use the Intel Detection Guide to see if your firmware is impacted.
- Locate your model in the list below.
- Click the Firmware link to download the firmware update.
- Download the SOP instructions for your product.
- Use the instructions to install the firmware.
