Do I need to install a driver for my monitor?
Windows will automatically detect your monitor and use a built in plug and play (PnP) driver to provide the supported resolutions in most cases. Plug and play monitors usually do not need a separate monitor driver.
For Acer monitors that have features that are not supported by the Windows PnP driver, you can download the driver from our Drivers and Manuals section. These driver packages include the following types of files:
.inf - Supplies Windows with the make, model, and resolutions your monitor can run.
.icc - Supplies Windows with information on the color profile and range of colors the monitor can support.
Acer only recommends downloading and installing a monitor driver if the plug and play driver offered does not offer support for your monitors native resolution or refresh rate, or if you are having issues with color quality.
