How to Check Your Chromebook Battery Health in Chrome Shell

In the Chrome Shell (CROSH), you can test the battery health of your Chromebook to get a better understanding of the discharge rate and overall battery health. By testing the battery health, you can determine if the battery is behaving as expected, or if it's time for a battery replacement. Use the instructions below to use CROSH to check your battery health.

Power on your Chromebook.
Press the Ctrl + Alt + T keys to open a CROSH terminal window.
Type battery_test 1 in the CROSH terminal and press Enter. (Note the space between battery_test and the number 1)

Note: The number 1 in "battery_test 1" is the number of seconds the test will run. Entering a higher number will perform a longer battery test to gain better insights into the discharge rate of your battery.
