Chrome OS has many features beyond simply being a browser. Chrome OS allows you to easily change the language of your whole operating system, specific websites, or your Google account. Read below to learn how to change your Chromebook language settings.
How to change the language for your Chromebook
If you want to change the language system-wide on your Chromebook, you can do so from the Settings page. Here is how it works:
- Click on the Quick Settings panel in the bottom right corner of your Chrome desktop and select Settings ⚙.
- Click on Advanced and then Languages and inputs.
- Click on Languages and then select Change next to Device language.
- Select your preferred language and click on Confirm and restart to restart your Chromebook and change the default operating system (OS) language.
How to change the language for specific websites on your Chromebook
- Click on the Quick Settings panel in the bottom right corner of your Chrome desktop and select Settings ⚙.
- Click on Advanced and then Languages and inputs.
- Click on Languages, then select Add languages. Select our language from the list, or select it from the pop-up menu if it is not displayed.
- Click on the menu ⋮ and move your preferred language to the top of the list.
How to change the language of your Google Account on your Chromebook
- Open Chrome and go to myaccount.google.com/language in the browser.
- Click on the Pen🖊icon and select your preferred language.
