Why does the camera turn on when I plug in speakers or headphones?
Some Acer models will automatically activate the webcam when you connect a headset or speakers. This allows the system to support Waves NX audio technology to provide a 360 degree audio experience. Waves NX uses the webcam in your computer to adjusts the sound experience when you turn your head. You must have a Waves NX head tracker to use this feature.
You can use the instructions below to disable this feature if you do not want your camera to automatically activate when an audio device is connected.
- Connect your headset or speakers.
- Type Waves MaxxAudio in the Windows search box and launch the Waves MaxxAudio application.
- Select WAVES Nx.
- Turn off the Nx functionality by moving the highlighted slider to the left.
