If you're that concerned about Win7, then forget Win7, go to this link, click on Win10, and follow directions to make a bootable Win10 installation USB pendrive. Jack E/NJ
There isn't any link! would it be the same as win10 I have previously installed?
I actually did install win7 as well but same issues appeared! :/
My understanding is the moment system wants to run the boot option either "restart" or "shut down" it gets stuck! not sure what can cause this, you might be able to understand much better than me!

You needed to completely wipe the SSD clean when you tried to install Win7 before. If you want Win7, you can't use the Microsoft tool without some preparation of the SSD.  You seem too worried about Win7. So just click on and follow directions for installing Win10

Ok! With win 7 when I press shut down or restart it stops at this step and won’t do anything more. But when i shut it down manually and trun it on again it comes up fine! Any idea?

What did you get from your brother? A Win7 file? A Win7 DVD?  A Win7 USB? And from where did your brother get it? Download it? Another computer? It will help to be more specific on exactly what Win7 installation method that you used and from where you got and in what form DVD, USB. Jack E/NJ

It was on iso file. I think he had downloaded it from wwbsite. I did the the installation as usual. I only created a bootable usb and that’s it. It seems that system struggles to read the SSD whether this because of the speed or something else!

You are experiencing common issues with trying to install a generic Microsoft Win7 version instead of the original  ACER-specific Win7 version because of proprietary mainboard and components.

Since you're in the UK, you may still be able to get the original factory version of a Win7 USB installation stick based on your machine's serial number id (SNID) through an authorized ACER service center. If you're machine was originally purchased in the US or Canada, these ACER Win7 USBs can usually be ordered on line for about $50USD but can't be ordered if it was purchased in the UK. I'd try one of the numerous ACER support sources in these links https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/service-contact or https://uk-store.acer.com/contacts#_ga=2.29390456.6392699.1585401644-243837147.1585401644

If you can't get the factory ACER Win7 USB in the UK, you can go to this link and try the patch listed to see if it has an effect. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/3767?b=1

What? I don't think that's what I said? The ACER patch is free but you have to download it from the link, install it and see if it helps. I thought you only bought an SSD?  It seems to be booting now but with the shutdown problem. The 10 year old HDD looks like it's failing. What else did you buy other than the SSD to try to remedy the apparent shut down problem?   Jack E/NJ

I didn’t have this problem before. I wanted to upgrade the system so my sister could use it. I bought two new RAMs , changed the battery, a new SSD but it seems it’s not working with the new SSD.
The problem actually appeared now again and it doesn’t boot from SSD anymore again. I can still use the HDD only. Is the patch usable on the win10 I have already on the HDD?

I took out the SDD and put back the old HDD as the SSD doesn’t work properly just the first few times and then doesn’t boot anymore!
