Then try ubuntu and make sure the notebook restarts normally. It is not necessary to install it, because you can use it through the pendrive!
Why would ubuntu  be any different than Debian they're both Linux environments and we know that Debian works in fact Ubuntu is just a different UI wrapper over Debian Linux... They both operate off the same core.

If both use the linux kernel, changing only the GUI! If the notebook usually restarts on debian linux, then I assume it's a problem with some specific driver, or is there any program that is interfering with the windows power scheme or something!

    Exactly!
if you start researching this issue as a Windows 10 issue and not a Acer Nitro issue you will find that it has been there for a very long time and effects a lot of computers!

it seems to be most common in HP, Dell, and Acer notebooks...

It is definitely some kind of a conflict between Windows 10 and some Hardware driver yet the solution seems to be different for every machine...

nobody has ever found an across-the-board fixed for this thing, and in fact about 30% of the people that have this issue wind up living with it because they never able to find a solution at all...

every new windows upgrade people hold their breath and hope that it fixes itself but so far it never has. And it has been around as long as Windows 10 apparently!

    >>>I have so many clean installs of Windows on this machine that I've lost count>>>
    >>>ubuntu linux>>>

Yes, agree with egydiocoelho on the linux test. I suggest trying to boot a live session of Cinnamon-flavored Mint 19.1. It's pretty bullet-proof. Use Rufus to convert the iso to a bootable USB stick https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=261

And PoppaJim what do you mean 'clean installs'? Did you try the ALT+F10 erase-everything cold boot factory reset from the hidden ACER recovery partition or not?

  • What he meant, is that he used microsoft iso to reinstall windows! It has two identical models of notebooks and both have the same problem, ie they connect normally but do not restart!

Well, I guess that means the hidden ACER recovery partition has already been wiped out if it was factory installed ACER-flavored version of Win10. Jack E/NJ

    Jack E/NJ

  • This problem already occurred with the version of windows 10 provided by Acer! I assume some driver or program is interfering with restarting windows!

If it behaved this way out of the box with ACER-flavored Win10 BEFORE ANY UPDATES were installed, then it should've been returned to the vendor as defective for a refund or exchange, or repaired under warranty. The linux test should help decide if it was a faulty factory Win10 installation or faulty hardware. Jack E/NJ

  • I think the Acer partition is still preserved in the 256GB SSD JackE. It replaced the ssd m2 of 256gb with another of 1tb and the reinstallation was made in the ssd of 1tb!

No I might try that on the other machine once I get finished getting this one to my wife.
I thought about it but I have already disabled Cortana on this machine

What I mean by clean install is I created a USB bootable thumb drive using the Microsoft creation software and a copy of Windows 10 ISO current version downloaded directly from Microsoft then I booted up a petition master program and deleted the entire SSD drive petitions and then I reformatted and let the windows install ISO run and create whatever formatted partitions it wanted to

and yes and during that process the recovery partition no longer exists on that specific Drive

however, I do have a complete full disk backup of the entire Factory fresh configuration

Well if the linux test isn't definitive, then maybe the m.2 stick should be pulled along with any other non-factory hardware. Then ALT+F10 system reset from the original factory drive.   Jack E/NJ

Considering the fact that I have two identical notebook computers purchased at the exact same time received on the exact same day and they both exhibit the exact same problem I have a real hard time believing it's a hardware issue that would require or even benefit from an exchange
    .
no this is a known Windows 10 / Hardware driver conflict issue that pops up quite frequently and has for years but it's not consistent by any means nor is it directly related 2 Acer...

I have found reports of this exact same problem and it seems to mostly affect HP, Dell, Acer Notebooks

That's a clean install of the Microsoft generic Win10 version. Not the same as an ALT+F10 clean factory install of the ACER-flavored Win10 version especially before any Microsoft updates have had a chance to mess up the ACER factory version. Jack E/NJ

Well since the Acer factory version came with all the Acer bloatware and ***** I did not consider that to be a clean install of Windows 10.

however since that is your definition I can answer you by saying yes I tried that three or four times before I did an actual clean install of Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit Pro

Sorry. i know you don't want to hear this but a generic Pro install is even further astray from an ACER HP factory install. If in fact the ALT+F10 ACER HP coldboot reset of the original factory hardware setup didn't fix it, then it is most ikely a hardware issue especially if it also happens during a live Mint session. That still doesn't explain how the exact same issue exists on two different laptops at the exact same time in the exact same condition both fresh from the factory

however I haven't done any software configuration on the 2nd machine at all yet so once I start configuring it I might as well go do a Acer Factory install with alt F10 and see how it works I did it before with no results but what the hell
  • Why do not we try to install the latest 18.04 or newer version of ubuntu on another HD partition to see if the notebook reboots or not! If in the mint, the notebook rebooted normally and without problems, I still have doubts if it is really a problem in the hardware!
