Hello, I have a Nitro 5 AN515-57 laptop. and there is a problem with the touchpad which has been going on for a WHILE now. At first my touchpad was working fine with gestures and all, but after one day it suddenly stopped working and I had to go to the BIOS and change my driver from I2C to PS2 drivers which had no gesture, But still I used it as I didn't know what to do.

The PS2 driver also had many issues with it, It made my cursor sometimes start clicking and jumping randomly and suddenly get back to normal, BUT today my touchpad just decided to STOP working and so now I don't have a working touchpad but I really need to fix it soon.

It is a hindrance to my work.

can somebody HELP ME?

Uninstall all the Mice and all other pointing devices in Device manager and reboot and see if the touchpad works, if not then reinstall the appropriate TouchPad ELANTECH or Synaptics driver from the AN515-57 Acer Support Page. If yoiu are still experiencing problems then it could be the actual touchpad that is faulty, and it need replacing with a new touchpad or its cable is faulty, so you need to check that slso. Good luck and hope this helps you out..

If your touchpad does not work, it may be due to a missing or expired driver. Updating or reinstalling your touchpad drivers in Device Manager may help resolve the issue. To open Device Manager, type Device Manager in the search box on the taskbar and then select Device Manager. A lot of users reported the problem gets fixed after updating or installing corresponding device drivers such as Serial IO driver, Elan driver, and Synaptic driver.

i have already tried the first 2 methods

deleting all mice drivers and devices from my device and restarting to solve it. Didn't work

I also tried downloading and installing both the drivers elantech and synaptics

    still didn't solve the problem

And I am not sure about the faulty components

([Hide sensitive content] that my device is out of warranty now)

Try pressing the F7 key to see you can switch off and on the Touch Pad, the icon should appear in top centre of screen.

Sir may I ask you a question?

how did you find these components for my device?

Those parts are from the Nitro AN515-57 Acer service guide that ranked members have access to, so the parts are correct. See also if in the bios at Main the Touchpad is set to I2C, as that is the default setting.
