I think so. New hardware will make Win 11 a pleasant experience. Old hardware will probably give you problems. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I have an old SONY laptop running As to "AI", that is kind of a joke and annoyance IMHO. Unless you are using programs where AI is actually used. Seems to me that AI is the next…

I have a Spin B3 B311-32. One technique you might try is to hibernate Windows and unplug from the charging cable between extended non-use. When hibernated, the laptop is off. And when you fire-up the laptop, it starts very quickly and you can plug it back into the charging cable. I only use it unplugged when an electrical…

Try this: 1. search for "ACCStd.exe" on drive c:, assuming c: is your system drive. 2. The double click on it to start it. 3. then start Acer Control Center. Usually works for me when this occurs on my Win 11, Acer laptop. I hope this helps.

This is a work around that I have used, try running this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Acer\ControlCenter\ACCStd.exe" from a command prompt, and then attempt to start Acer Care Center from the icon in Start or on your desktop. Don't use the quote characters though. I hope this helps.

Thank you for answering my question. The options were not the answers I wanted or expected, but I realize this laptop does have some limitations/annoyances and found that this is one of them. I use those Acer function keys frequently. But I also use the traditional, app related function keys frequently, especially in…

Thank you for the bringing me up to speed on Microsoft's boot scheme. I read last week about an app that changed one's MSR boot to a new one (GPT) used in Win 11, but I didn't read up on GPT. I was curious to the small, hidden partitions on this TravelMate, and questioned the size of the 116.5 gb emmc as I expected…

Thank you for these tips. These three processes seem to do the job of releasing more space on the ssd. I have my uSD card, SDXC (D:) set to look like a hard drive in Windows so it can accommodate Google Drive and Dropbox. Apparently, Win 11 maps drive D: as a folder in drive C: as it shows as uSD Card folder in C: Pretty…

Edge reports version 119.0.2151.72; and in Win 11 Settings, About reports 23H2, build 22631.2715. I don't use Copilot or Edge, but Copilot (Preview) button appears on the taskbar. I don't know the extent it is integrated with/into Edge.

Sometimes the service ACCStd isn't running because of some friendly cleanup/optimizer and reinstalling Acer Care Center doesn't recreate the task to start. You may have to manually start this to see if that fixes startup of ACC. If it does, you should create a task using task scheduler to start ACCStd on boot. Had that…

In Windows 11, go to Settings, select System, select Sound, scroll to and select More Sound Settings. A window appears named Sound with 4 tabs, click on the Sound tab. The window refreshes, then locate and uncheck the Play Windows Startup Sound checkbox. I hope this helps.

Thank you @StevenGen for the suggestion to use Intel Driver & Support Assistant. I installed it and it updated 2 Intel drivers. Although it works, the TravelMate TMB311R-32 didn't like the update. The laptop would shutdown instead of sleep when commanded, and startup required holding the power button for about 12 seconds…

I have a TravelMate Spin B311R-32 with Windows 11 and have the same concern, Windows Security is recommending enable Core Isolation protection. I can't do it. Windows Help stated that Hardware Virtualization in Bios needed to be enabled. I could not find the setting if any exists. What is next? Should I just ignore it?

I agree, that was my experience when I upgraded from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 on my TravelMate Spin B3 B311R-32.. I downloaded the Win 11 iso from Microsoft, ran install and it magically installed without entering any key or license number. I also downloaded the drivers from ACER for Win 11 for my little laptop.

ACCstd.exe wasn't listed in the Startup tab nor the Details tab. After I discovered is should be running, I created a Task in Task Scheduler to start ACCstd.exe at boot/login time. Thank you for your encouragement.

Problem is somewhat solved. Discovered by error and trial, that ACCstd.exe was not starting when rebooting/restarting Windows 11. It appears to be required before starting ACC. I created a shortcut to manually start ACCstd.exe. Then I can start Acer Control Center (ACCAppLauncher.exe).

No, later as in same day to verify that the ACC install was able to start in another Windows 11 instance. I was able to install and run in the same startup instance and it remembers the app's last checkup. But ACC does not open in the next instance of Windows 11 (shutdown, then start up). I am going to take a snapshot of…

Nope. Didn't work. Same error message. fwiw, my last windows updates: KB5015732, 7/25; KB5015882, 7/24; KB5015814, 7/12. ACC version: Acer Control Center_Acer_v4.00.3034_W11x64_A

Apparently you can boot to bios. In bios information, does your hard drive appear? Does it appear as expected? Do your other bios settings appear as you expect? Does your bios version number match one listed in Acer Support for your Travelmate (1.04, 1.05, or 1.06)? (Btw,I have no idea what your bios information or…

Thank you Jack E/NJ for your help!!!! That spurred me to do a more extensive search to resolve it. I discovered that a service was disabled. Sensor Monitoring Service. I set it to Automatic and started the service. Now my screen rotates! YEA! I run a third party optimizer that disables some of the services and I suspect…

No. That driver is not listed for my model. B311R-32 And fwiw, when I flip the unit from one mode to another, a transparent icon of the outline of the mode the unit is in will flash momentarily on the display. So the unit does know it is being switched from one mode to another.
