Hi there, you may try to enable the "CoolBoost" option on the top right. The fan will spin accordingly on the temperature. As far as I know, changing "Virtual Memory" will not trigger the spin to spin faster.

Hi there, guess we had the same situation. You may refer to my existing thread for some troubleshooting as advised by the members. Do you mind stating down what SSD you bought? I'm curious what SSD you bought since you said the connector is different. Judging from the model (previously I owned AN515-45), there is only 1 slot for NVMe SSD and 1 slot for 2.5" SSD. So I'm assuming you might had bought the wrong type of SSD.

Confirmed with BIOS v1.21, the hardware reserved RAM had been reduced significantly as per the screenshot. (2.3GB → 300MB) 💪 I wish they come out the BIOS much earlier before upgrading from 8GB to 16GB just to solve this issue. 😓

If I understand your problem, you are swapping out the old SSD with the new SSD. This will of course trigger "Reboot and select proper boot" because the new SSD (1TB) is without Operating System (OS). What I would suggest either clone the new SSD or use the new SSD as your gaming drive.

My bad for overlooking the type. SSD power consumption is very low compared to traditional HDD. My suspect would be the motherboard connector giving problem. If you have another spare SSD, maybe it will pin-point to more exact problem.

There was no error logged into the "Reliability Monitor" and nothing on the "View all the problems". It there anymore possibility might cause this weird behavior?

Since you had tested the SATA HDD on PC and is working, so the problem might be coming from the ribbon cable. Did you insert the ribbon securely to the motherboard? Do you have spare ribbon cable to test?

I think I roughly get your idea. I assume the lanes distribution might follow such that x8@4.0 shared between the GPU (RTX4050) and the original SSD (each getting x4@4.0).

I'm running both 8GB x 2 (SR). Original configuration was only 8GB x 1 (SR). At least now the laptop is working as it should, and additional ram helps to load more apps.😅

I think the current situation can't be resolve/rectified until ACER issue a new BIOS. Else you got to add in additional 1 stick of ram, like what I did to my current system.
