When i install a new ssd it gives a black screen and says "reboot and select proper boot device".

Hello, I have had my pc a while now and i bought with 256 ssd and I wanted to upgrade it to 1tb ssd but the problem is when I remvoed my old ssd and put my new one in it comes up as "reboot and select proper boot device" and i've went to BIOS and it didn't work so when I added my old ssd it worked again and it works perfectly fine now.

I want a new a ssd so i can download more games and have lots of school files, because i cant use it with 256gb and id like to get help with this issue. If anyone come across to thsi problem and solved the problem. Please reach out.

It might be my new ssd who was a "kingston Nvme ssd" and it was the same size and everything

Do you see the new SSD info in the BIOS?

If so, there is no OS on the new SSD yet. You will need to install Windows to that SSD.

What is the laptop model number, the best is to do a clone of the old 256GB SSD with the OS onto the new 1TB drive and then take the old 256GB SSD out and boot the laptop only with the new 1TB cloned drive. If I understand your problem, you are swapping out the old SSD with the new SSD. This will of course trigger "Reboot and select proper boot" because the new SSD (1TB) is without Operating System (OS).

What I would suggest either clone the new SSD or use the new SSD as your gaming drive.
