  • Just check this thread : http://community.acer.com/t5/Acer-Tablets/Acer-Iconia-W700-Wi-Fi-problem/td-p/631/jump-to/first-unread-message You might find ideas or solutions to get your wifi working.
  • Yes and you have to keep this option checked. Have you tried using the samsung driver for the wifi? I've put it on my dropbox so you can access it easily : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/10173985/Broadcom%20samsung.zip I've got no problem with it, it runs great!
  • yep same problem here. The level is verrrrry low. Completely unusable (I tried new drivers, upping the amplification option on the device configuation panel...) Lucky me, I don't plan on using skype but still, another thing to fix on this device...
  • Last thing you can do, go to the parameters (charms bar then "parameters" then "modify pc parameters") , choose "user" on the left, and on the right "switch to a local account" (don't worry you'll be able to revert back to a Microsoft account), log off and log in, then go to the windows store and it should ask for a…
  • It's the w511 that has built-in 3G and I don't know when it Ill be available in the US...
  • I also experienced problems today with the store being unable to process updates and downloads. I finnaly fixes it by using this nice tool from Microsoft : http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab Just Run it, it should say if it found something to fix, reboot and voilà…
  • Yep i've got the 64gb version so I got a complete recovery partition (11gb), I'm not 100% sure i'll do a recovery because I remembered that I had touchpad issues in the bios so I don't see how a reinstallation of windows would fix that...
  • Hi, sorry for all the problem you're going through! You can legally download the iso of windows 7 at : http://www.w7forums.com/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads-t12325.html You will just need you key in order to register windows 7 during installation And yes regarding your problem, you have to reinstall windows 7…
  • Thanks! I will try a reinstall then, even if it pains me to reinstall all my non-windows store apps. But in my box there was no DVD so I guess I have to use the recovery partition... I'll see what I can do...
  • I'll reply to myself, I just found a FREE video player able to use dxva to handle video decoding : Potplayer I don't know what's wrong with dxva on VLC or Media Player but at least I can play all my mkvs without any problem!
  • Good infos! Regarding the wifi driver I also had huge problems like extremely long boot time and login, impossibility to restart (it would just hang...). i also noticed that it was a problem regarding the wifi driver, so I uninstalled completely all the drivers that were on my acer (only those regarding wifi), I also…
  • The only thing I know is that the 511 is a w510 with built in 3G (4G?LTE?) As for the rest I can just guess like you, but reports on the web do tell that the P is for Win8 32bit pro
  • I'll guess and say you're talking about metro apps... I also had a similar problem, I think I resolved it by first installing the windows update (there was several) and after restart I was able to update the apps. But the windows store sometimes struggles and doesn't update or hangs. I don't know why, you just have to…
  • The w510 is just a pc, with a reaally nice touch interface thanks to win8, but it's still a pc so yes of course you can use another keyboard on the usb port. As for the connector, I think it's a specific one designed by acer, I haven't seen it on other devices before. it's the same as the power connector.
  • In excel and without a proper keyboard you should use the full keyboard in windows 8 with all the normal keys you would find on a "classic" keyboard. To do so, swipe left to show the charms bar, then "Parameters" then "modify PC parameters", on the left go to "General", and on the right scroll to the last item under "touch…
  • You can take screenshot if you are not on the metro part of windows 8. To do so, on the start screen do a search for "snipping tool" and lauch it, you can then use it to take screenshots of any "normal" windows. But I don't think you can take screenshots of metro apps or the start screen, you'll need a keyboard to do so
  • I would say no, you shouldn't worry about that. Batteries improved a lot since those times where we had to take the battery out of a pc when plugged in to keep it "healthy". Just connect it to the dock and play Then you won't have to worry about how much time left you have to play
  • Hi! I'm not sure which version of Android you have and if things are different from my Note 2 but you can try that : Can you try going into "parameters", then "applications", switch to the tab "All" (On the right), scroll and click on "Google Play store" and select "delete data". Then try again to download an app from the…
  • Any mouse using bluetooth will work with the w700. The Logitech ANywhere Mouse MX you have is using a (Logitech) proprietary RF signal so no bluetooth
  • Yep it works! (at least with my Sandisk class 10)
