  • Seems to have been quite common at least when I frequented this forum a year ago after purchasing my X34. I certainly have a very tiny amount on mine, but it's not even noticeable unless I'm on an entirely white screen and put my ear to the monitor... suffice to say I can live with that But some others reported it being…
  • Cyoung080 hi HDMI definitely cannot achieve 100hz@3440x1440. The bandwidth of the cables and the HDMI standard does not support it. You will need to use DP for sure, and theoretically there is no problem with outputting through a miniDP > DP since all DP cables should technically support 100@3440x1440. However, not all DP…
  • ChayanitoE did you try a factory reset on the monitor OSD? If not, I would suggest that first.
  • Short answer is no, not unless Acer revise the model before it is released and provide new information to news vendors and trade shows (which is unlikely but who knows). There are currently only two notable differences with the 'p' version compared to the original X34 released last year: 1. It's 100hz out of the box, so no…
  • The X34 speaker sound comes from behind the monitor, bouncing off any walls or objects you have behind the monitor which is probably why it sounds distorted to you. In general I'd say you shouldn't count on built-in speakers in monitors or laptops to ever be any good, they are usually very poor quality and only useful in a…
  • What do you mean it's no longer on their website? http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/predator-models/monitors If you mean the page where they had a whole bunch of information on some page that hadn't been updated for years, yes they've taken it down as they should have done (that particular page said the X34 was 16:9…
  • Don't use a VA panel for gaming, end of story. It's not suitable for it. I don't know why Acer advertise this monitor for gaming at 144hz since it is clearly not a suitable panel technology for that purpose. But apart from the awful transitions they aren't too bad and VA can be best used for photo editing and general…
  • Yes it's an oversight on Acer's website, in all language versions, which hasn't been corrected. It is of course 21:9 as it is 3440x1440. One would think they'd get it right, as it's their own product, but apparently not (btw those pages have been up for months before the actual release, so I think half of the details were…
  • It looks pretty knackered to me. The only thing probably worth trying is resetting the monitor via the OSD, as well as double checking the power cable and block are all connected properly. If it's still the same, then send it back to where you bought it and get a replacement because that's definitely not right.
  • Yeah sadly I think it probably is a fault with the red colour output of the monitor. You'll probably need to go through Acer support to have them fix it under warranty, or you could return it for a replacement via RMA with the seller if it's still within your return period. Good luck
  • If your monitor has banding, it will be with the blue colour. This was a known problem with very early X34's. It would appear that you have a very early version of the monitor if this is the case. You definitely need to go through Acer support to get them to repair your monitor, but unfortunately I think it means sending…
  • Yeah Acer support really don't know what they are talking about sadly. A lot of people get very strange requests or responses from them when it comes to basic troubleshooting I can definitely say that there is a problem with the Red colour on the signal since turquoise will be created by using only Green and Blue, with 0…
  • I guess you need to send the monitor back which seems incapable of running in 3x1 144hz.
  • I've not seen this issue before, but as you rightly say I would guess that it's some issue with the monitor itself since the issue persists even after you connect to a different machine, different GPU, and even a PS4 on HDMI. I wouldn't think it would be a g-sync issue as the HDMI can't use g-sync but I could be wrong.…
  • Never seen this before. Have you tried/are you able to try with only running one of your GPUs? I'd test that first if I were you and go from there. At this point it's going to be a matter of troubleshooting the setup.
  • The curve is nice, it stops you seeing "sunken" pixels around the sides of the monitor due to the bezel-less design and I imagine a stronger curve would help this even more, although on my standard X34 this is never noticeable anyway unless you purposefully sit really close and stare at the edges of the screen. The only…
  • Forgive my ignorance of the state of things in the USA (Where I guess you are from since you're talking in dollars) but here in the UK, when I purchased my X34 I called up the people I have my home contents insurance with and checked with them if it was covered for accidental damage. They said it was and I didn't even have…
  • You want the Acer Predator XB271HU https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B0173PEX20/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1467385369&sr=1-6&keywords=2560x1440+144hz+ips or the Asus Rog Swift…
  • Don't use solvent to clean your monitor, you probably melted the glue on the logo sticker with some house cleaning product so you'll need to stick it back on with superglue like the guy above said. Always use specific monitor cleaning products and be careful when cleaning near the stickers, then this won't happen
  • Hi, You are correct that the default stand shouldn't allow swivel movement in that axis. I've not heard of this before. My X34 stand seemed fine for the weekend I first used it, but now I've been using an Ergotron MX desk mount for the last 9 months and it's the most awesome thing ever so I don't even go near the original…
