  • @JackE yea I may do that once I receive my refund, may even just go with a used laptop from someone local just to get me by, I will still remain active on here to try and help others out, may even try for a custom built laptop after I look at some prices.

  • @xapim yea I’m aware other brands have thermal issues, but I’ve never really seen so many thermal complaints on other brands, granted the Helios is probably one of the most popular if not most popular laptop for gaming.

  • Alright, hopefully this is the last post I will make on here, but I’ve come to a conclusion, I hate to give up on the laptop, but I emailed the retailer and I’m still eligible for a refund so it looks like this weekend I will be sending my ph315-51 off and saying my goodbyes, and I will also be selling my other Helios 300…

  • @ShiraB try doing a windows 10 in place repair using microsofts media creation tool, you can get it on the microsoft website and all you do is run it, click upgrade windows 10 and it just repairs any files that are corrupted, i did it to mine, it did not fully solve it, but it surely seems to help.

  • @JackE Yes we are, but i have not tried a vanilla windows 10 yet, @xapim i dont even know where to begin on cloning a drive lol i will have to look into that.

  • I’m thinking I will need to do a full on clean installation of windows 10 to see if that gets rid of any sort of software issue I may be having even though it gets rid of Acers stuff that come with the windows 10 on these laptops.

  • I talked with a Microsoft support agent again and gave them all the info that was what I saw was probably the issue and they had me do a few things in some settings and restart, so far so good, been playing dayz for a long period of time now with no issue

  • @kaedee okay, good luck, also I cant remember if i told you, but what helped my PH315-51 is a microsoft tech support agent went into mine and installed some drivers and havnt had any issues since other than freezing, but i uninstalled the drivers an reinstalled them through windows update and no problems so far

  • @Duckrey i would make a restore point then update the drivers, and then if it messes up you have a restore point that you can fall back on.
