Intel XTU removed my Factory Undervolt (predator helios 300 ph315-52)

Hey all,

I tried using Intel XTU on my Predator Helios 300 (2019) (I5 9300H + RTX 2060) to undervolt the CPU. It was pretty decent but I found Throttlestop much more workable. I uninstalled Intel XTU but I noticed that when I boot up my laptop now - the default -0.125V undervolt the CPU comes with out of the box is gone. Is there any way to retrieve my old settings and restore the -0.125V undervolt at boot?

    @kunjuro @Gowtham_sekar @ruxx0

    Hi, all

I had the exactly same issue with stock undervolting and PL2, My helios 300 PH315-52 undervolt went 0mv and PL2 went 90W instead of 56W.

    Here's the solution:
    - Uninstall Predator Sense and Predator Sense Service using Control Panel
    - Uninstall Intel XTU, If you already unistalled that then make sure uninstall all the files related to Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility and Predator Sense
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel - Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility
    • C:\ProgramData\Intel - Intel Extreme Tuning Utility
    • C:\Program Files\Acer - PredatorSense Service
    - Disable Fast Startup in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings
    - Reboot your Device
    - Download a Fresh Installation of Predator Sense and Installing it and Reboot your Device

Now, you'd have your stock undervolt and PL2 but there's a catch that you need to keep the fast startup disabled. Therefore you won't have issue with undervolt again unless your device back on from sleep or hibernate. Undervolt going back 0mv after sleep or hibernate is an issue with predator sense and can be olny fixed by rebooting the device

Note: Make Sure Delete the Exact Folder that i mentioned above, don't delete any other folders.

I'm working a app to detect undervolt changes during the sleep and hibernate, Will share the app very soon.

I also have this issue @Aathif_Mahir, but when I reinstall Predator Sense, This folder will show again
C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel - Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility . even if there is no Extreme Tuning Utility installed (after reset windows 10 OS) .

Before it is not like this (fresh from the box), the -125v is stable, but now when I boot from shutdown, it shows 0v when i check in HWmonitor.

    Help :(

Ofcourse, The folder would appear again, Don't remove that unless your reinstalling Predator Sense.

The Predator Sense software uses XTU service to setup undervolt and PL2 limit out of the box, In that case when you install XTU seperately that causes issues older xtu service and newer one your installed. that's why you'll have issue with undervvolt and PL2 limit

@Aathif_Mahir @xapim is there still a chance for the -125v default to be back? without using any third party software such as throttle stop and XTU?
I have already completely removed xtu and even reset OS and load default BIOS, but still the default -125 is not back :( , it is intermittent.

newUserPredetor reinstall PS the undervolt settings are built int the TS profile dedicated xtu service (this service has nothing to do with xtu itself its completely independent as some might think) but i would just use TS instead as i already stated above check here  :)

That's true Throttle Stop is way better but Acer using XTU Services for Undervolting the CPU, Therefore if we need stock settings going with XTU is a better option. Because once there's a update for Predator Sense it'll install XTU again and There should another issue

    Hi All,

I managed to fix it myself, thankfully it came back to default -125v undervolt. Here's what I did:

    1. Uninstall predator sense and predator sense service using 3rd party uninstaller app (I used Revo uninstaller pro)
    2. After the uninstall setup has finished, scan for any remaining artifacts, including registry entries (Revo will do it for you)
    3. Reboot.

Congrats, undervolt should come back to default. Actually at first I don't bother fixing it anymore since I already have my TS setup during boot. But then I encountered a glitch in UI of my PS and tried to reinstall it. Then I disabled temporarily TS and check uv using HWmonitor. And there, it came back to -125.

Let me know if this works for you.

Aathif_Mahir the PS xtu service its independent nothing to do with the intel crapware also if u use TS it will overwrite any previous settings and regarding windows updates should be disabled from updating drivers/firmware or even completely only update whatever u need if/when needed manually windows updates break more than they fix still on 1809 here updates completely disabled for 2+ years no issues  :)
ruxx0 i always recommend the same as you can see here on my thread  but i use youruninstaller instead have used it for years and never had any issues

I had mine fixed with this, I don't know if it will for others but give it a try.

I already had intel XTU uninstalled by just going to the control panel's program and features then there I uninstalled it manually.

No need to uninstall predator service.

All I did was that I went to acer's website then acer support, type in the model of your laptop and then enter it. It should redirect you to the drivers and manuals. Scroll down until you will see the application and click the drop down arrow. Then download the predator sense software. Once finished downloading, click the setup and there it should say that setup will uninstall predator sense then just click ok. After that don't reboot yet. Click the setup again and this time it should install the predator sense to you're system. After that installation, you may now reboot you're pc then open hw monitor and you should see that  you're cpu's IA Offset is undervolted.

Mine undervolted itself automatically to -128mv not -125mv.

My theory is maybe yours might be different as well. Tell me if this works and if so please also tell me how much did it undervolted for you. Hope this helps peace. Thank you all.
