Hello - the trackpad on my Acer Aspire e11 es1-111m-c3cp used to work beautifully on 2015 version of Windows 10, but after a major install to an up-to-date Windows in 2020, the trackpad didn't work at all at first, so in BIOS I changed Trackpad from Advance to Basic and now it works a bit... but not much... no gestures, right-click doesn't work properly, barely useable.
In Device Manager the trackpad is NOT PRESENT. In "Mice and other pointing devices" there is "PS/2 Compatible Mouse". And if I "Show Hidden" under "Human Interface Devices" is "USB Input Device".
Any ideas please? Thanks.

Go to Acer support site and download Serial IO driver, then go to Device manager and expand System devices, reinstall Serial IO I2C Host controller driver, even if you have the same driver, uninstall it and install the downloaded driver.

I uninstalled the device, then it wasn't in the list, so I had to restart the laptop. Then, of course, it re-installed itself. And then when I try to update the driver to the one that I downloaded, it says "The best drivers for your device are already installed".
How do I trick it?!
Could you please have a look at similar threads like in the links and see whether an of them helps.

Can anyone tell me how to force Windows to change the driver for a device when it says "The best drivers for your device are already installed"?
Thanks.
