    JackE,
I have already closed the notebook, I didn't look at the processor...Maybe it is PGA instead

It looks like it was PGA...
As a matter of fact my motherborad should be like this:

If there's a flaw it better be in the integrated graphics card if there's actually one because the HD5650 is BGA for sure haha

Could you tell us which i7 it actually is? In that era there were some that were only CPUs and had no integrated graphics card, the 720QM for example would be one of them while the 620M (later gen though) did include integrated graphics.

I had worked on a 2011 Dell that had if not the same a similar dedicated graphics card that ended up dismantled for pieces because it wasn't worth it getting a new motherboard for it and I had no way to re-ball the GPU.

    My processor is i7 720QM.
I am maturing the idea that it is appropriate to throw everything away ...

It's PGA. It might be worth trying to re-seat it a few times to clean its pins. The thermal module must be removed. Jack E/NJ

No integrated graphics then, so if the problem is related to the graphics card fixing it may require getting a new motherboard :anguished:

One recommendation if you do what @JackE mentioned, don't tighten the screws labeled 1 though 4 in the last picture too much, sometimes if they make too much pressure over the CPU it refuses to turn on (loosening them a bit would be enough). They have to be tighten, just not crazy tight.

Outside of trying Linux through a USB stick, or a hard drive with it installed already there I'm out of ideas :(

Well, if re-seating the CPU doesn't work, a solder reflow is still possible either by baking the whole board in a toaster oven or just the graphics chip with a heat gun. Jack E/NJ

I disassembled and reassembled the processor with the new grease, but nothing changes. I noticed one thing with the PC opened: the fan turns on only at power on, then it stops permanently. Subsequently the PC switches off and on again, but from that moment the fan no longer starts.
I have found the recovery disks I did when I bought the PC: can I resume the data on disk?
At the end, should I try to reprogram BIOS?

next to the processor there was a BGA component, probably the graphics processor, both with thermal grease (I changed both). I could have tried to heat with a heat gun, but previous experiences  with Playstation have given negative results: lost time

Since the CPU must communicate with the BGA graphic chip, did you also re-seat the PGA CPU like earlier mentioned in addition to re-pasting? https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/774246/#Comment_774246  I mention this again because a PGA connection is more vulnerable to environmental disruption than a BGA connection. Unzip the file on another computer. Then look for a filename KAYF0X64.fd in either the Win or Dos subdirectory. Copy this file to the root directory of an MBR FAT32 USB stick with an activity LED. Plug in USB stick. Press and hold Fn+ESC.  Plug in the charger while stll holding Fn+ESC. The power button should flash one time. Then press the power button to turn the machine on. The USB LED should show actvity and you can release Fn+Esc. When the flash is complete, the system should reboot by itself.

If this fails, I don't think you have much choice but to try the heat gun on the graphics chip BGA despite your bad PlayStation results.

    Hello,
please note that images on the service guide don't correspond to my PC (i.e. Heat sink).

There is no KAYF0X64.fd at that link.
    My PC:
    S/N: LXPMN02018XXXXXXXXXX
    SNID: XXXXXXXXXXXX
    MFG date 2009/12.

Can I try with my recovery disks before? (so to see windows working?)

Yes, it would be OK to try your recovery disks.

Also is there any BIN, FD, ROM or WPH extension files in either the extracted DOS or Windows subdirectories? If yes, you must try each one on the USB stick starting with the FD extension file NCQD1_4M.fd.

    Hello,
after several attempts, I succeeded to enter into Windows safe mode, so I saved my data on an external drive.
Should I try something else since I can log into Windows? (always with very noisy screens)

Check again for any BIN, FD, ROM or WPH extension files in either the extracted DOS or Windows subdirectories? You must try each one with the FN+ESC method described on the USB stick starting with the FD extension file NCQD1_4M.fd. Jack E/NJ

Hello, I have not tried to reprogram BIOS yet.
But now I can access to BIOS Menu: what should I do?

I really don't think your BIOS is causing the issue. But you can press F9 to load BIOS defaults. Then F10 to save the BIOS default setting to see what happens. Jack E/NJ.

Hello, I set BIOS default values: no results.
I recovered factory configuration using recovery disks: Windows does not start any more neither in normal nor in safe mode.

I am working with external monitor through HDMI (noisy screens), with LCD cable disconnected and camera cable disconnected.
