[G9-591-70VM] Intel Rapid Storage Technology removed accesss to my D drive

I got a prompt from Intel Rapid Storage Technology a week ago to protect by data from disc failure. I went through with it and I found out that I no longer have access to my D Drive anymore. After speaking with Intel, they said that the application created a RAID 1 configuration with my HDD/SSD. This RAID 1 configuration merged both HDD/SSD into 1 redundant drive. Because both HDD/SSD have different sizes, the bigger one equalized the storage size to match the smaller one, this caused that the rest of the storage space obtained an unallocated status. Thus, I can no longer access my D drive.
I have searched for a solution across forums on to fix this issue, but it turned fruitless.
BIOS does not have an option for me to delete the RAID volume. Nor can it be undone with IRST.
My laptop model is G9-591-70VM and I'm operating with Windows 10.
I did try IronFly's raid tool method, but the command prompt says I'm using the wrong version of IRST.
Is there any solution to this?

this means you already had a newer version than the RAID tool and there's nothing else you can do, apart taking off the HDD.I'm not an Acer employee.0

had you try this RAID tool?

if it doesn't work, the only way to recover the HDD is to take it off the laptop and do a full wipe of it.I'm not an Acer employee.0 -
Hey IronFly,Thanks for responding.I have tried the RAID_Tool method.I clicked on the rstcli64.exe file and I saw the command prompt open for a brief second before it closed rapidly. Then, clicked on the "delete" batch file, and this resulted.
I'm not sure if it's supposed to work like this and if I'm am using the RAID_Tool correctly.

Update: I ran the command prompt as administrator, changed the directory to where the "delete" batch file was and got this as a result now:I got a similar results when I ran the rstcli64.exe file with command prompt as administrator:

Does this mean I need to upgrade IRST to version 14.8 to make this work?

Okay. Thanks for your suggestion. I will have to take it to a computer technician to do that since I don't want the risks that comes with opening my laptop.

I have a G9-593 with same issue, but I managed to put it into "recovery" type RAID. Is there a v. 17.2 of this RST CLI? Or do I have to disconnect the hard drive as well?0

no v17.2 of iRST, intel has stopped the CLI version months ago.I'm not an Acer employee.0

ok. I've removed HDD and am waiting on a SATA/USB cable to arrive to wipe and clean it. Thanks for the info!0

Hey Paramac,How easy is it to open up an Acer laptop? Do you have to order some special tools to do so?Also, how would you format an HDD drive?0

The predators are the easiest laptops to open i have ever dealt with in my life any proper screw driver (with any phone repair kit) would be more than enough regarding formatting an hdd it all depends if you are installing an OS on it or not if not you can format it via windows or any other software through windows if its to install an OS it will be formatted when installed

Update: I took the HDD out and formatted with another computer that uses Windows 10. After formatting it, it reattached it to my laptop and now it's stuck on a screen that says "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete."0
-
just formatted?
you need to wipe/delete it completly, not just formatting or the RAID will try to repair the array.I'm not an Acer employee.0 -
Thank your for your response.
Would I need to format it after I wipe it?
Also, I am thinking of using this tool to wipe the HDD: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/0 -
You can simply open a command prompt amd run diskpart.
Select the HDD and give a "clean all" command, it will take some hours to end it.
You can format it before putting back in the laptop.I'm not an Acer employee.0 -
Okay. Thanks. I will try it right now.0

I am getting a new problem that is preventing me from wiping the hard drive. My secondary computer works fine until I plug my HDD and the everything would stop working. The command prompt won't allow me to type anything after typing disk part. (I ran it as administrator.) Every program would stop responding. When I tried shutting my computer down, it would take an indefinite amount of time. Thus, I had to push and hold the power button to shut it down.

I switched to using another computer to wipe the disk. My plan is after it is finished, I will switch it to another computer that has windows 10 to format it.0
