It makes me very sad to say it but after multiple attempts, I still can not recover my BIOS. :(
Try with the name XXXXXX  and with XXXXXX , I think you could use the tool https://github.com/LongSoft/InsydeImageExtractor/releases/ It's supposed to convert the bin file into a valid flasheable, but I prefer to ask you before , What do you think?

    >>>I think the only thing that is missing is the correct name because now the power LED stays on blinking>>>

Which LED? The laptop or the USB stick? Jack E/NJ

    Jack E/NJ

  • Dear @JackE! Is it possible that this motherboard does not have a bootblock area? Which allows bios recovery! I'm asking this, because in the two service guides I downloaded, it does not make any reference on how to use the recovery disk crisis! In the service guide of model a114-32 mentions how to use the recovery disk crisis; already in model a114-31 or a314-31, they simply did not mention the recovery disk crisis for this model!

Good point. I'd guess the lowlevel bootblock is still accessible but perhaps not by the usual ACER FN+ESC method. Especially if the mainboard might also be used by other mfrs. That's another reason why it'd be good to know if the blinking LED is the USB and suggests that bootblock is actually responding to FN+ESC keyboard input.  Jack E/NJ

The low-level bootblock you are referring to would be the method using the dmi tool program? Is it possible to recover the bios even if the flash drive is not blinking? If the flash drive does not flash then does the bootblock have also been corrupted? What does mfrs mean?

The only way to make the led of the laptop stay flashed is:
    1 Fn + Esc + Power
2 Wait for it to stop flashing as shown in the video (Blinks only 2 times)
3 At that moment I stop pressing Fn + Esc + Power and then I do it again
4 I keep Fn + Esc + Power pressed until the LED flashes and does not stop.

    The USB led never flashes.

Sorry, other manufacturers like Dell, HP, Asus who might use the same board but access the bootblock differently. Maybe worth trying the other manufacturer's hotkey combos for flashing the BIOS chip outside of Windows.

    @MichelOlvera >>>The USB led never flashes.>>>
Not good. Means either the USB stick is dead or the bootblock is dead or both are dead. No USB LED activity suggests nothing is trying to access the USB stick to even read if the fd filename is correct or not. You could try to change it from MBR to GPT FAT32 to see what happens.

At this point, not many more things to try without a screen. You can also try to HDMI out to a TV but the graphics card probably hasn't been initialized to even a rudimentary video level so I doubt it will work either.

I agree with @JackE! I'm still waiting to see if @Acer-Manny gives us an answer on how to correctly access the bootblock in this template! However I'm finding that the only solution is to re-record the bios with an eeprom recorder! This one will solve the problem at once! However we will wait for the employee of Acer @Acer-Manny gives us an answer!Dear @JackE, do you know any other model that uses the quanta z8p motherboard?

Sorry I don't. But ACER's likely not the only one. Especially these days when all manufacturers are trying to cut costs further by using as many standardized off-the-shelf interchangeable parts as possible other than in their latest whizbang flagship models. Jack E/NJ

    Hi egydiocoelho,

Unfortunately we do not provide this information, as this steps and documentation is intended for the Acer repair centers technicians. I can recommend MichelOlvera, sending the unit in for service to one of our local authorized service center. @MichelOlvera What problem were you having with the machine using the original factory BIOS firmware that you thought a firmware update would fix? Jack E/NJ

The laptop does not connect to any 5GHz network, try reinstalling windows, use the drivers from the official Acer website and nothing worked, all this happened since the installation of BIOS 1.26, so I decided to downgrade to recover network compatibility.
Acer's telephone support told me that they did not cover that in warranty.

That's right, but by phone they told me I did not cover that and at an ACE in Morelia, Mexico, they told me again that it was not covered and that it would be 50 dollars to repair it, money with which to be honest I do not have, I'm a student so I'm poor...
  • About the fact that you are connecting to the 5ghz network, you just have to set the channel to 36 and the channel width to auto in the router! There was no need to change the bios! See your email!

    >>>they told me again that it was not covered >>>

Exactly what is "it" that is not covered? I asked you earlier "Do you have a black screen after trying to install a BIOS update?"  Your answer was "Exactly that happened! "

So either call the ACER warranty service center again or arrange for a warranty service online.

    (1) State your exact problem.  "I have a black screen after installing an ACER update."
    (2) If asked which update, answer. "BIOS_Acer_1.26_A_A.zip".
    (3) If asked further details, answer. "An ACER community ACE advised that I arrange for warranty repair service"
