I have an Acer Aspire 7 A715-76G running Windows 11 version 23H2 and am facing random touchpad and cursor delays.
Occasionally the touchpad input and on-screen cursor experience delays, but the issue resolves randomly or after some time.
I have already checked for Windows updates and updated the touchpad drivers. This problem does not occur with an external mouse.

Hi, leave the power adapter plugged-in and the battery fully charged to 100%, if the system throttles power to preserve energy the touchpad and other adapter performances will be affected.

All you can do is uninstall and reinstall the touchpad drivers as touchpads either their software is corrupted or the actual touchpad cable or the touchpad is faulty and needs replacing. So do the software first and uninstall it and reinstall it and then see if the touchpad reengages and works properly, otherwise its a hardware issue that could be within the cable or the touchpad itself. Good luck.

These are the touchpad and cables that your A715-76G has

Hi, boot to BIOS and press Ctrl + S to show the hidden options, in Main check that Touchpad is set to 12C HID and not PS/2, save changes on Exit Bios. In Windows Device Manager uninstall any Touchpad drivers you see in Mice and other pointing devices and uninstall the 12C HID device in Human Interface Devices. Just reboot, do not install any touchpad drivers but let Windows install the 12C HID device. Increase the cursor speed.

If your cursor will not move or your touchpad is not working at all:

    1. Remove connected devices - Remove all devices that are connected to the system except for the power cord. This includes external keyboard, mouse, flash drives, hard drives and other peripherals.
    2. Enable/disable your touchpad - Many systems allow you to turn the touchpad On or Off by pressing a key combination. On most models it is FN + F7 or FN + F2, but could also be a different function key. The touchpad function key will be labeled with one of the images below.
    3. Restart your computer - Restarting your system may help your touchpad start responding again.
    4. Reset BIOS or UEFI to default settings - Some systems have touchpad settings in the BIOS/UEFI.
    5. Reinstall touchpad drivers - Missing or incorrect drivers may cause your touchpad to not work properly. You can try downloading and installing the latest driver from our Acer Drivers and Manuals page. You may need to attach an external mouse to complete this process.
    6. Restore Windows- Newer versions of Windows allow you to restore your operating system without losing your personal data. Make sure you select the option to Keep my files.

If you can move your cursor but are having problems with cursor speed, erratic behavior or tapping and clicking:

    1. Adjust touchpad sensitivity - If your cursor is moving too fast or too slow, you can try changing your touchpad sensitivity.
    2. Disable tap to click - Accidentally making contact with the touchpad when typing can cause the cursor to jump around or leave the window.
