The pen only works with the touchpad, not with the display.

So the Acer part number is DP.BKF11.002. This is the touchpad itself:

    And potentially more information:

The "Touch pad fluctuation switch" is described as "Turn the touch pad function on or off." So there seems to be an on/off button.

The simple answer is that you can't!😂 as the Acer S32-1856 monitor is not even a touchscreen monitor and/or has any stylus pen capabilities, who told you that the Aspire S32-1856 monitor has stylus pen capabilities? As Acer defiantly didn't advertise this monitor as that! There are only certain Acer latops that have stylus pen capabilities, if you want Acer stylus pen capable laptop look here at; What Products Are Compatible With the AES 1.0 Active Stylus and/or monitor look here; 10 Best Touch Screen Monitors for Graphic Design 2024 (Oct). Good luck.

    Hi . StevenGen .

If you look the model up i bought from Currys

it came with a detachable OceanGlass™ Touchpad made from oceanbound plastic—with active stylus pen

The touchpad you can remove from the base and use in your lap with the pen .

When not using you dock it on the base to re-charge

It came with instructions to set up computer .

But no instruction leaflet how to use the touchpad and pen .

Just says you can remove touchpad and use .

I have looked on the internet to mybe find a vidio with instructions

    but no luck ..

    Thanks for your reply .

Sorry, I didn't look at the S32-1856 SG close enough and realize that its an AIO computer as I though it was a monitor 😁 my mistake, what I suggest is that you first make sure that you have the latest Win-11 24H2 OS build 26100.2033 and all the windows updates installed and also the last bios version R01-A2 first so that the S32 AIO computer is up to date. Then read this guide " Pair Pen with Windows 11 PC Tutorial" as Acer does not have anything in its eManual or SG on the stylus pen, that is what I suggest. Good luck.

😁great story Tony really enjoyed reading it, but computers is the way to go, keep an old mind busy and ticking and give you longevity👍I'm going into my 71st year in a couple of months, so I do realize your situation. Just on your AIO, maybe a community member can contribute to giving you some additional advise as there is nothing from Acer on the pen and the screen of this AIO computer that you have, I've looked at everything and there is nothing. Good luck and keep well always.

    Hi. StevenGen

    Thanks for your reply .

Yes , i understand the Touchpad and Stylus pen work on their own

And not on the screen like Laptops .

But no information on Acer or the Internet , At least Acer could have

supplied a leaflet how to set it up in the box when you buy the Computer

added to computer set-up instructions .

That where Acer lets themself down .

Will ask advise from my local computer shop during the week

    which is near me .

    All the best .

According to the block diagram, there is a dongle you need to have attached:

Do you have that plugged in?

    Hi , billsey .

    Thanks for reply .

Computer shop near me says it does not need a dongle .

Touchpad connects / docks on the base of computer

or when off by Bluetooth .

Cant get it to connect to the bluetooth when i go into bluetooth options

when i go into bluetooth and click " ADD " it does not pick it up .

Acer should have added it to the computer at the factory so its

    already set up .

I have bought lots of Acer computers over the years but never again

This one is putting me off , had a few problems with it that i had to sort out .

Will try another make in future .

    Take care .

    Hi, billsey .

The Lady from my local computer shop is coming down tomorrow

    Thursday 17/10/2024 , Its a family run business .

As regards your Block diagram /CPU and need a dongle

if touchpad and stylus pen need to be connected by one

surely it would have been supplied as part of the package / setup .

is there a part # or model # on the pen ?

You did press the top button ? Or is there a ICON on the screen that you touch with the pen ??

I'm just checking. BTW I am older than you by 6 years. I've been fixing stuff since 1960.

    Fighter Jets, Comm-Nav,

Then installing stuff on a Missile Site in the Pacific

7 years with IBM fixing the big, huge computers

Then 45 years of TV/VCR service in my one-man shop.

    I love fixing stuff.

    Hi, Larryodie.

Stylus pen is black with no button on top , top just unscrews to put a battery in .

On the side near the bottom is a button you just press .

    as in pictures .

Only info regards the pen i can find :-

    Acer MPP1.51 Antelope32i Active Stylus with 4A Battery, L(135.3mm) D(9.5mm) W(17g), two button(Eraser & Right click) DP.BKF11.002

Tracy from computer shop got the touchpad and pen working , but says it needs

some software [ Whiteboard / Journal which needs to be put on to work properly plus needs a touchpad driver update .

Tracy says its the first computer with that touchpad setup she has seen so she is

going back to the shop and look around the internet .

i cant find on Acer site .

A few years ago you use to be given a CD with software needed .

I dont know why Acer could not set it up on computer in the factory

with all the other stuff /software they put on it .

    FOOTNOTE :-

Had problems from the start with it when i first bought it from Currys .

The pen was missing from the box , Currys did not want to know .

In the end had to get RESOLVER to help me sort it out .

Lucky for me Joanne from Acer picked up on it , sent me a email

saying she would send a replacement out right away which she did .

Magazine " computeractive reviewed the computer , i sent all the emails from

Currys and Resolver which was going on for weeks , they put it up on their magazine

as several people also had their pen missing .

Computeractive nominated Joanne as Acer employee of the fortnight in

    their magazine .

Had a few issues with the computer since which i have had to sort out

so will be looking to buy another make , plus im giving this one free to

    my neighbor .

    had enough with Acer .

    billsey .

I already knew about the on/off button on the touchpad .

But switching it to ON did not connect it to computer even

when it was on the base connected to the USB socket .

So there was a problem / issue with it from the start .

Missing software / drivers , who knows ??

Tracy from Computer shop has got it to connect to computer

but still cant write with pen .

It comes up on bluetooth now where before i could not get it to

do that when trying to get bluetooth to search / add it
