Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 dead screen backlight.
I have been using my Nitro 5 happily for the past year, and have decided to change the thermal paste. Upon changing it, the display worked fine for around 30 minutes, after which it completely shut down while sort of flickering for about 2 seconds. I can still see it work by shining a light into it. I've tried looking at the board, and looking at the LCD connector but it doesn't seem to be disconnected in any way.
Is there any way to save the screen without buying another one?
Note: before this went down, I booted into windows and Nitro sense was behaving weirdly (and still is) being stuck on 1C for the CPU and nothing for the GPU.
I rebooted to Linux afterwards and that's where withing ~3 minutes the backlight died.
